Sometimes the best thing a young writer can discover is another young writer🌟.

Not every child has friends who get excited about inventing characters, discussing books or spending an afternoon creating an imaginary world.

Then they join a room where everyone gets it.

That's one of my favourite things about the Creative Writing Club.

It's not only about improving sentences and plots. It's about young people finding a community where their imagination is celebrated.

📅The Autumn commenced: 12 & 13 September.
And you don't have to commit straight away. Let your child experience a class first and see what they think.

Your child already writes.

Not because someone tells them to but because they genuinely love it.

Maybe there's a half-written novel on their laptop. A fantasy series mapped out in a notebook. Characters they've been developing for months.

At this stage, another general writing class may not be what they need.

They need challenge.
Professional feedback.
Structure.
Accountability.
Someone who takes their ambitions seriously.

That's why we created the Young Author Accelerator, an intensive 12-week coaching and mentorship programme for ambitious young writers aged 10–15 who are ready to develop substantial writing projects.

This isn't simply another writing class. It's the next stage.

School teaches children important writing skills.

But young writers also need somewhere they can experiment.

Somewhere a dragon can appear halfway through a story. A villain can unexpectedly become the hero. A strange idea isn't marked "wrong", it's explored.

Our Creative Writing Club teaches real writing techniques while giving children room to develop imagination, confidence and their individual voice.

Because becoming a stronger writer shouldn't mean losing the joy of writing.

Young writers often have plenty of imagination but haven't yet learned the craft and discipline that helps turn ideas into complete stories.

That's something we work on in the Creative Writing Club: planning, structure, characters, plot, description and developing ideas beyond that exciting first spark.

Their imagination is already there.

Let's give it some tools.

The morning alarms are back on, the school uniforms are ready, and homework has returned. Where did all that summer creativity go?

When September arrives, children's stories can quickly disappear beneath homework, clubs and packed family schedules. But your child doesn't need hours to keep their imagination alive.

⚪ Five minutes of free-writing.
⚪A weekend family story session.
⚪Turning today's science lesson into tomorrow's adventure.
⚪Celebrating one brilliant sentence instead of waiting for a finished novel.
⚪Giving them space to write without worrying about perfection.

My latest blog shares five simple ways parents can keep children aged 9 to 15 writing throughout the school term, without turning creative writing into yet another piece of homework.

And with our Creative Writing Club for Kids and Teens beginning its autumn term on 12th and 13th September, this could be the perfect time to give your young storyteller a regular creative space of their own.

"Creative writing" is much more than handing a child a prompt and saying, "Write a story."

Good storytelling is a craft, and craft can be taught.

Week by week, our young writers learn techniques they can apply to their own stories while having the freedom to experiment, make mistakes and discover the kind of writer they want to become.

We've had parents in the US and Canada asking how their children can join our Creative Writing Club without the awkward time difference.

So this September, we've done something about it. 🌎✍️

We're introducing a NEW weekend class, making it much easier for young writers across North America to join our live online community.

Your child can learn storytelling, develop their writing skills, share ideas with other young writers and receive expert guidance all from home.

The new term starts 12 & 13 September.

Their imagination isn't the problem. Getting it onto the page might be.

Does your child invent characters, imaginary worlds and elaborate stories but struggle when it's time to actually write them down?

That's exactly the kind of young writer we love welcoming into the Creative Writing Club.

They don't need to arrive knowing how to write the perfect story. We teach them how to develop ideas, create characters, structure plots, use language effectively and, importantly, trust their own imagination.

Your child doesn’t need more homework or another pointless after-school activity. They need somewhere their imagination and creativity is taken seriously. ✍🏾📚
