I think we need to champion our champions more often.

I have two Leahs in my business life. I have given them nicknames mindset Leah and Hairdresser Leah.

They do completely different things. One works around money and mindset, and the other is in hair, beauty and holistic training.

Somehow, these two women have become two of my biggest champions.

We met through groups, and we just connected.

Over time, we've been through a lot together.

They are two of the people I know I can message when something has gone wrong. When something brilliant has happened. When I need another opinion. Or when I just need someone who understands why whatever has happened feels like such a bloody big deal. 😂

Mindset Leah has helped me enormously with my own mindset and has been one of those people who gently keeps me moving forward. Although she'd probably call it “love punching me forward” 😂 and supporting me while I've found my feet again.

Hairdresser Leah and I have supported each other through all sorts. We've swapped ideas, talked business, laughed an awful lot and been there when things haven't exactly gone to plan.

Very different women. Very different businesses.

Both awesome human beings.
It occurred to me that perhaps we don't tell these people often enough what they've meant to us.

So today, I want to champion the champions.

Who's yours?

Who's the person you've met through business who has backed you, supported you, listened to you, made you laugh or simply been there when you needed them?

Tag them below and tell them.

Let's give a bit of recognition to the people quietly standing behind other people's businesses and cheering them on. ❤️

I've got space for 5 women who have something in their business they'd really like to move forward.

Maybe it's an offer you want to improve, something you're trying to prioritise, a decision you've been mulling over, or something you've created that you'd like another perspective on.

Bring it to a free 20-minute Business Boost call.

Tell me what's happening. I'll ask a few questions, share what I'm noticing, and we'll talk it through together.

If you'd like one, send me a message and I'll send you the booking link.

You do not need to become more like everyone else to make your business work.

Sometimes the thing that feels different is the thing worth keeping.

You do not need to become more like everyone else to make your business work.

There is a strange contradiction in business advice.

You are constantly told to stand out, then handed a very precise list of how you are supposed to do it.

Post like this. Sell like that. Speak this way. Show up here. Follow the formula.

And somehow, while everyone is following the same instructions, you are also expected to be different.

Maybe the answer is not to become better at fitting in.

Maybe it is to pay more attention to the parts of your business that already feel like you. Your way of explaining things. Your way of working. Your values. Your pace. Your personality. The bits somebody else might tell you to smooth out.

Sometimes those are exactly the bits people remember.

If you’re ready to build around what is already strong, distinct and yours, rather than sanding it down to fit somebody else’s model, that’s the direction I’d help you take.

Being visible does not mean being everywhere.

You can still be remembered without being the loudest voice in the room.

You do not have to be on every platform. You do not have to post every day. You do not have to show your face constantly. You do not have to become louder just because somebody told you visibility means being seen all the time.

What matters is being remembered for something.

A point of view. A way of thinking. A useful idea. A strong message. A reputation. A clear reason for somebody to come back.

Visibility is not about occupying as much space as possible. It is about making the space you do occupy count.

If you’re ready to become more visible in a way that feels intentional, recognisable and sustainable, rather than simply louder, that’s something we can shape properly.

If your plan ignores your capacity, it is not a realistic plan.

A business plan can look absolutely beautiful on paper. Five posts a week. Networking. Emails. Sales calls. A launch. A new offer. A funnel. A podcast while we’re at it, because apparently sleep is optional.

Then real life turns up.

And suddenly the plan that looked organised starts feeling impossible.

That is not always a discipline problem. Sometimes the plan simply asked too much.

Your capacity is part of the strategy. Not an inconvenience to be worked around. Not something to ignore until you burn out.

A plan that only works when you are functioning at 100% is not a very robust plan.

If you’re ready for a strategy that reflects your actual capacity and still moves the business forward, that’s where we start.

What works for someone else can be useful. It does not automatically make it right for you.

There is nothing wrong with learning from people who have already done what you want to do. There is a lot wrong with assuming their route has to become yours.

A strategy can be proven. A method can get results. A system can work brilliantly.

And still not suit you.

That does not mean you are resistant. It does not mean you are scared. It does not mean you need to force yourself through it until you finally become the sort of person the strategy was designed for.

Take what is useful. Question what is not. Adapt the rest.

If you’re ready to stop second-guessing yourself and start making clearer decisions about what actually fits your business, that’s exactly the kind of clarity I help you build.

17/08/2026

Your business should fit around your life. Not force your life to fit around it.

It’s very easy to build a business that slowly starts dictating everything. When you work. When you rest. What you say yes to. What you feel guilty for not doing.

And before long, the thing that was supposed to create more freedom starts demanding more and more of you.

I don’t think that should be the goal.

Your business can be ambitious without taking over your life. It can grow without requiring every spare bit of energy you have. It can be built around real responsibilities, real limits and real life.

That does not make it less serious. It makes it more sustainable.

If you’re ready to shape a business that supports the life you actually want to live, rather than constantly fitting yourself around it, that’s the work we can do together.

Being different does not make you wrong

I’m becoming less interested in people telling me the “right” way to do business, and more interested in standing up for the people who are made to feel wrong because their way looks different.

Because we love a tick box.

Pick a niche.

Follow the formula.

Use this funnel.

Show your face.

Say this.

Post there.

Do it consistently.

And when somebody says, “Actually, that doesn’t fit me”, the answer is too often:

You need to get out of your comfort zone.

Maybe.

Or maybe we could listen properly first.

Advice should help somebody find a route forward.

It shouldn’t make them feel defective because they don’t naturally fit the route we already know.

If everybody followed exactly the same proven methods, said the same things and marketed themselves the same way, standing out would become rather difficult anyway.

Different isn’t automatically a problem to solve.
Sometimes it’s the thing worth building around.

If your way looks different and you’re tired of being made to feel that’s a problem, come and have a chat.

Calm businesses still deserve visibility

You shouldn’t have to become the loudest person in the room just to be noticed.

There’s a particular version of visibility that gets presented as unavoidable.

Show your face constantly.
Talk to camera.
Share more personally.
Post every day.
Be everywhere.

And yes, those things can work.

But visibility is not a personality test.

You can become recognisable through your ideas.

Your writing.

Your perspective.

Your reputation.

Your customer experience.

The way you explain complicated things simply.

The way people feel when they come across your work.

A quieter business still needs to be findable.

But findable and performative are not the same thing.

You don’t need to disappear.

You also don’t need to turn yourself into content every day.

There is quite a lot of ground in between.

If you want to be more visible without feeling like you have to perform, come and have a chat.

Emotional capacity matters in business

Your strategy does not operate in a vacuum.

It operates alongside your energy, responsibilities, confidence, health, finances, family, mental load and whatever else life has decided to throw into the shopping trolley this week.

That matters.

Yet we often talk about business strategy as though everybody starts with exactly the same amount of time, money and emotional bandwidth.

They don’t.

The strategy that works beautifully for somebody with six uninterrupted hours a day might be completely unrealistic for somebody building around caring responsibilities.

The visibility plan that energises one person can flatten another.

That doesn’t automatically mean the second person needs fixing.

It means capacity belongs in the strategy.

Not as an excuse.

As information.

Because a plan you can actually sustain will usually take you further than the supposedly perfect plan you repeatedly have to recover from.

If your strategy only works on your best day, it probably needs rethinking. Come and have a chat.
