Perfectly timed for indoor climbing season, a fresh delivery from Parisian bouldering crew KARMA8A has landed.

If you’re into Gramicci’s horizontal take on vertical sportswear then you’ll probably appreciate what this lot do, mixing roomy, relaxed silhouettes with hardy fabrics woven to withstand the rigours of the wall.

Their tees are particularly good, with unique finishes like laser-burnt logos and distressed edges giving them a tangible, tactile texture that really stands out in life beyond the screen.

Purple Mountain Observatory’s bold first step into the footwear world, the Calyx is a truly unique design that brings classic campsite footwear right into the modern age. Made in cahoots with Italian grip-maestros Vibram, they combine fully-waterproof one-piece StratX rubber uppers with a reassuringly burly Grivola sole.

With that slip-on design, they’re ideal for sliding on when you get back to the camping spot, but to be honest that probably sells them short, and because of that chunky, all-weather design, they’re more than capable of handling a bit of off-road action.

An ultra-modern trail runner for night and day, combining a grippy Vibram Megagrip sole and a highly-secure Boa lacing system with reflective details for when night falls. Connecting our two northern stores by means of foot or bicycle has been on our minds since opening our Manchester store last year. An opportunity finally presented itself to us in the shape of a collaboration between British folding-bike moguls Brompton and Japanese clothing designers and wander. Being stockists of and wander, and fans of Brompton, it clearly made sense to get involved.

And so it was—a plan was formed and a date was set. We would connect our two shops by two wheels on a Sunday in late September. All bikes and all people were welcome to join us as we traversed the tundra between Liverpool and Manchester. Head to the journal to see the full report.

Montbell have many strings to their bow, but it wouldn’t be too controversial to say that lightweight down is a particular strong suit for the Japanese brand.

Our love for the featherweight, packable majesty of the Superior Down Parka is fairly well documented, but the Plasma 1000 Jacket also deserves a nod when it comes to winter warmth without the weight, just right for those who travel light and fast in the countryside.
