Like most decent people, I despise bullies. They’re cowards who prey on others to feel powerful, but their actions reveal weakness, not strength. Recently, a parent reached out to me, desperate for help because their young goalkeeper was being bullied by teammates. The worst part? The football club did nothing to protect the child. I was moved to create this video, not just to offer advice, but to stand up for kids and parents who feel unheard.

This video is for every parent who has seen their child come home in tears, feeling defeated, or doubting their worth. It’s a reminder that no child should ever have to face bullying alone. Speaking up isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a true act of courage. So, let’s encourage our children to be brave, to speak out, and to know they are supported. Share this video to help raise awareness and to empower young players to stand tall against bullying. Together, we can show them that they are never alone in this fight.

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW:

It has been about 35 years since I have been back to Newtown FC who play in the top tier of the Welsh League, where my professional goalkeeping career began.

Recently, I sponsored all the academy and first-team goalkeepers of the club and accepted the club's invitation to watch Newtown vs. Caernarfon as the match day sponsor.

I was gobsmacked that so many supporters who watched me play 35 years ago came to say hello and I was also floored and honoured that Newtown FC put my name on one of their Hall of Fame seats.

Another bonus was that both goalkeepers, for Newtown and Caernarfon, wore J4K goalkeeper gloves.

Additionally, the Caernarfon goalkeeper, who is on loan from Fleetwood Town and is a Northern Ireland international, is a former Just4keepers student. So yet ANOTHER J4K success story!!!

What a night - thank you Paul Wetton and Newtown FC for your wonderful hospitality and taking me down memory lane.

I am incredibly proud and honoured to sponsor all of the Newtown FC academy goalkeepers, as well as the first team goalkeepers.

This is particularly special to me because I began my career at Newtown FC as an 18-year-old, starry-eyed goalkeeper, determined to achieve my dream of becoming a professional goalkeeper.

During the one season I spent at Newtown FC, I was honoured to win both the Players' Player of the Year and the Supporters' Player of the Year awards (Sorry, I had to mention this 😃).

My season at Newtown FC laid the foundation for my professional career, leading me to sign with clubs like Everton FC, Wigan FC, and Plymouth Argyle FC, among others.

Now, I am thrilled that my career has come full circle, allowing me to return to Newtown FC as a club sponsor, supporting all the goalkeepers at this wonderful club.

I hope my journey will inspire all the goalkeepers at Newtown FC—that if I could have went on to become a professional goalkeeper, there is no reason why they cannot also achieve their dreams.
