Surfing is killing it. This $10 billion global industry – built on a clean, green dream – has never been more popular. But surfing has a dirty secret… and people are dying.

This is screening at the poly in falmouth on Friday 9th Oct 2026. Check the poly website for tickets. With a fantastic free entry raffle with loads of cool goodies to win. Hosted by the legend that is James A. Grant for the evening. Screening time is 8pm.

This has been on my list to watch for a long time now. I’m slightly scared to watch it mind. Will be an eye opener and another education on this journey of trying to improve the health of the planet and its inhabitants.

People and companies do care. We can make a difference. Awareness and education is key.

After building push bikes in London. Then cycling them here to Cornwall (around 300miles). This legendary group of Uni students from Brigham Young University then stayed with us for a week to build their own surfboards. Then surf them!
No doubt they slept well when they got home.

It was the first group in the new workshop so it was super exciting!

We all had a super fun week and they did fantastic jobs to their boards and even better, we got the opportunity to surf them at the end too. Which is always a treat.

The boards were fitted with a wood veneer on the deck to start them off. Then needed painting, glassing, hot-coats and finishing to be ready to surf.

Massive thank you’s to Max Blank and Lucie Hackney for helping out. Couldnt have done it without you.

Some guy called Tom came up to me at the end of the fish fry in Crackington Haven asking to have a go on one of the boards I had on display.

The tide got high and the waves turned into a kind of steep shorey. Pretty much what the board is designed for. So I said yea go for it.

Everyone else thought I had just given away a board and he was going to leg it. But he jumped in : ) and came back.

I stood on the bridge, recorded and drank b**r.
Tom, if you're out there I hope this finds you.

This is today!

Come down to coombe barton inn in Crackington Haven for a day of surfboards, surf! (🤞), music and b**rs.

There will be a bunch of Predn demo boards rigged up and ready to have a go on. If you have ever been curious to know what it’s like to not use wax on a board 🤔

Too many to mention for praise and thanks for this one, but a big one to Kit at bandwagon surfboards and Rising Tide Festival

De masking of a wood (oak) veneered surfboard.

‘Morlader’ (Pirate in Cornish) bare oak deck little whip.
5’8” x 19 1/2” x 2 3/8” and 29L and literally weighs nothing!
The oak veneer reinforcements on the hand squeezy area and fin boxes (and lightning bolt, an ode to legend 😬) have been painted over but the grain shows though. Should create a bit of light in those areas.
Looks and feels very cool.
Epoxied area on the tail of the deck. Mainly to make it safe to remove and replace tail pads. Wanna keep that wood nice.
