De masking of a wood (oak) veneered surfboard.

‘Morlader’ (Pirate in Cornish) bare oak deck little whip.
5’8” x 19 1/2” x 2 3/8” and 29L and literally weighs nothing!
The oak veneer reinforcements on the hand squeezy area and fin boxes (and lightning bolt, an ode to legend 😬) have been painted over but the grain shows though. Should create a bit of light in those areas.
Looks and feels very cool.
Epoxied area on the tail of the deck. Mainly to make it safe to remove and replace tail pads. Wanna keep that wood nice.

This was the first custom surfboard to be built in the new Predn surf co workshop. Thought it should be documented.
So pleased with the set up and outcome of the board.

Never been massively excited by vehicles. Just need to get me my surfboards and tools from A to B.

Some boards are really hard to hand over when they get finished. This one was the hardest so far!
Although is such a legend i know its in good hands.
8’x22”x3” and 58L
Padauk wood veneer top and bottom with 2+1 fin boxes.
Morlader construction means not glassed over the wood.
