🏆🌹⚽️ A2 League Cup final CHAMPIONS!
What an amazing night... A first cup final for CFC and what a fantastic performance from the boys to take the title!
🗒A longer warmup, and following a motivating team talk in our changing rooms, the boys made the walk out alongside our opponents Forth... A close game was expected, as it often always is against Forth and it was fitting for us to play them in the final.
What followed was 1 of the best 1st half performances from our boys in recent memory - energy all over the pitch - barely a sniff was allowed from our defence, any pressure was cleared swiftly, our midfield fought to win every battle throughout and retain possession to find any forward balls to our strikers & wingers where possible. The pressure eventually told with a great finish from Nadal to go 1-0 up. The boys continued from there though, and in more pressing from our strikers up top, an unfortunate own goal went in from Forth. They kept pushing till the end of the 1st half and were unfortunate not to go 3 or 4 up, whilst keeping our defence as strong throughout.
2-0 at half time, but the coaches and boys were all too aware that the game can change quickly and we needed to keep the same intensity. In the 2nd half, Forth came out strongly and a much more even battle, with Forth creating some shooting opportunities, and our boys having less opportunities to apply the pressure back. With a few sub rotations, the boys kept to the task and again defended resolutely to keep the score at 2-0 and take the title!

As coaches we couldn't be prouder, and this day will live long in the memory for the boys, coaches and parents 🌹
