Friday this week we hosted a fundraising golf day for Drighlington Rugby Under 8โ€™s 2026

Members and guests came together and 18 teams battled in the wind, with Drighlington Rugby legend and The Manor - Golf member Jimmy Tate and his team winning with a fantastic am-am score of 80 points.

Important side bets included our Club Secretary Adam Drewery and his team once again defeating/thrashing/owning Sฤ™th Lรฃmbert and his fourball.

Our very own Lewis Duggan and Lee Greveson once again went to battle and this team the Pro Shop lads were the victors. With Lees greenkeeping team finishing dead last and winning the Aprons of Shame.

A great amount was raised for the junior rugby team and everyone praised the quality of the course and the hospitality upstairs and in Cook House Bar & Kitchen

Local supporting local exactly how it should be !

An ace on the first hole by Noah ensured victory in a closely fought match against Leeds Golf Centre and Garforth Golf Club crowning The Manor champions of West Yorkshire in the Golf Sixes League. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Having won 4 of the 5 matches, The Manor play their last match at Garforth this coming Sunday with a 3 point lead where they will receive the medals and trophy.

Coach Mark McGeehan said โ€œI can not be prouder having now won this title 4 times and runner up twice, the quality of juniors we have is exceptional and a privledge to work with them all. Each year we have a new batch of players but the same winning resultsโ€

Junior golf and the Champions of the Future coaching programme is achieving the results itโ€™s sets out to.

Itโ€™s the second hole in one in a year from the pupils of CoTF!

Congratulations to our very own James Donohoe and Curtis Walsh who entered the Yorkshire Challenge finishing a very impressive 9th place out of 203 pairs.

Three days of golf at Lindrick, Ganton and Moortown with scores of 36, 43 and 43. Winning the day at Ganton.

A superb achievement and further proof of the quality we have here at The Manor.

Our very own Mark McGeehan had a great day at Woodsome Hall Golf Club Pro-Am yesterday tying for ๐Ÿฅˆ individually on a day when the course record was broken with a 63!

Mark played with members Eddie and Nathan Sterling, and manager of Sheffield Eagles Craig Lingard, and the team finished well in 5th position on what was a birdie fest of a day.

Mark played great shooting 66 with his daughter Evie on the bag as his caddie. After being 2 over through 4 he rallied with 7 birdies ๐Ÿ‘Š

A battle of 2 vs 2 from The Manor Gc took place at Leeds Golf Club, with no shots given either way!

On paper, this should have been a straightforward oneโ€ฆ

The Pro shop team, Lewis Duggan & Richard Hedley โ€” playing every week, fully warmed up, clubs permanently in hand. ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The Greenkeepers, Joe smith & Lee Grevesonโ€” who had played about 6 rounds between them all year. ๐ŸŒฑ

What could possibly go wrong?

Wellโ€ฆ absolutely everything for the Pros. ๐Ÿคฃ

It was a proper tight affair, with neither side willing to give an inch. Despite the obvious advantage of actually playing golf regularly, the Pros somehow found themselves being dragged into a battle all the way to the 17th hole.

And then, to the disbelief of absolutely everyoneโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ† GREENKEEPERS WIN 2&1! ๐Ÿ†

The Pros can now go back to playing every week and working out where it all went wrongโ€ฆ

While the Greenkeepers can return to their usual routine of playing once every six months and somehow expecting to win everything.

Well played, lads! ๐Ÿ‘โ›ณ๏ธ
