And finally our Colton Cricket Club women's 1st team awards!
🏏 Batting - Karen Dixon 👏. Always a contender and pipped to the post last year, with a season total of 95 net runs, Karen is the master of the dink and run. She takes every short run available even when on the non strikers end. She can also wallop the ball across the boundary if she needs to, Karen is a great team player who likes to win but also encourages everyone, gives a little tactical advice when needed and wants everyone to have a good time. We can't mention Karen without giving a nod to husband Pete who is an umpiring stalwart for us, thanks Pete! 👍
🏏 Bowling - Laura Collins 👏. A reliable bowler, who often bowls the final over which takes the pressure off everyone else in a tight game, Laura is one of the originals from season 1, still loving being part of a fab team. We can't let bowling pass without mentioning Alice who got most wickets of the season at 7 wickets but across both teams. She'll absolutely be in contention next year after being busy with her wedding and first baby this year so the competition is on!
🏏 Players player - Alison Waide 👏. Incredible with both the bat and the ball and a true quality fielder, quietly going about the game with a calm and collected approach, encouraging everyone. Ali is a fast bowler and the master of calling and taking the short run when batting.
🏏 Coaches player - Julie Linley 👏. Julie is a force of energy and positivity. We never have to worry where to put her in the field, place her in the bowling order or who to pair her with for batting. Many times this season opposition umpires and captains have commented on her fielding and the high level of communication. She is always there backing up and making sure everyone enjoys the game.
Well done ladies, its a pleasure to play with you every season!
