Slightly off topic...

If you have listened to Michael Jackson's music, and I mean truly felt it, and understood the lyrics, you will understand why he was always under attack.

An upbringing that was beyond traumatic. Yet he built himself into a bastion for humanity, despite the repeat attacks on his soul.

A good man.

An example.

An angelic soul.

A saviour for so many.

I don't believe for a moment that he died.

I don't even entertain the negative press and accusations.

Time is a great warrior.

The film Michael only scratches the surface. His albums and music tell you all you need to know.

When you go through hell, you eventually come out the other side.

Time. Patience.

Never believe the stories, the truth eventually prevails, for those willing to listen, and connect.

Su***de awareness month should be rebranded to awareness year, for men.

Male su***de rates are an abomination.

Especially middle aged males.

Praise the Dads.

Praise the men of this world.

All men are created in God's image.

Honour them.

Love them.

Respect them.

Communicate with them.

Hear them.

Heal them.

Never ever sh*t on them.

Then see what magic you get in return!

A child without their father is lacking massively. This isn't a competition, it's a statement of fact.

Seen, lived it, breathed it, felt it, am it.

Will always be it.

Best job in the world.

Praise be to God.

What I've learnt from many male friends in the past few months of reaching out has made me realise that I am not alone in suffering. Many of us have had the same experiences, similar journeys, and the same battles. We have a lot to learn, and a lot of work to do to here. Check-in on your male friends, especially Dads and middle aged men. Without the support I've had recently I'd not be where I am, and wouldn't be aware of just how vast the same issues I suffer span across my demographic. I've had people offload on me all my life, and I've always been happy to listen and help where I can. Even now.

Never more than now.

It's so good to talk, but even better to be in an environment where you can actually talk and communicate with basic human decency, and people willing to listen and communicate on the level.

Rise up.

Never judge a book by its cover.

This photo was taken on a very dark day. I smiled for the selfie, yet the story here was one of suffering on a level beyond the 6000ft ascent I had just completed during a 10-mile non-stop jaunt on two feet, over rocky terrain, from Montroc deep in the Chamonix valley, up to 'Le Brevent' summit, in the Aiguille Rouges of the French Alpes.

A place I've had so many great adventures and fond memories over the years, taking friends, groups, students, and clients, climbing, trail running, mountaineering, and all that fun stuff...

I took this photo knowing full well it would always remind me of a time of incredible hardship; mentally, physically, and spiritually. I've done this a lot in life, along with video diaries and journals, for reflection.

To be present, even for a moment during the mayhem, takes a lot of willpower.

I can never go back here until I'm healed, rebuilt, and strong enough. Maybe with my daughters, because there is so much I still wish to achieve in this world. Especially here.

All in good time.

Thank you heavenly father for giving me eyes to see, ears to hear, and hands to feel the weight when it begins to lift.

Some may put me down. Others will look down. Me, I'm just sharing my journey for those who need to never feel alone in their fight for good.

I have a long road ahead, but have good people on this journey with me. They are my lesson. Good people in this life are so very hard to come by, and they always have faith. Some don't even know it, yet.

God bless. God Speed.

This is the completed work for my eldest (age 8) over the past 12 months; the result of her third year of home education alongside her 3-year old sister, who is also flying.

This isn't all-day academics, this is carefully planned learning around our routine, and daily adventures in nature, regular clubs, and other extra-curricular activities wherever possible.

She does work for her equivalent year in school just as a safety net, but the majority of what she does is always a few years above, and much secondary school learning already in sciences and other topics.

Never feel that you can't teach your own children. Find their passion, and before you know it they begin to self-learn and find what really floats their own boat.

They have incredible opportunities for massive social skill development beyond a same-class environment, and can get stuck into so many life skills from tending to gardens, cooking, shopping, and just about everything you can think of when fixing and making things.

Children are creative beings. They want to learn, play, question, and ultimately make stuff.

Never let anyone put you off taking more control of your children's educational development.

This is not a 'look at me' post. This is purely an informative post. I take a photo like this at the end of each year, to be able to look back on. It isn't even half of it, there are reading logs for the books read, journals, countless paintings and drawings, and all of the creations along the way that get recycled or binned as time goes by.

Memories that last a lifetime, and building a foundation that can form a strong start for life.

I had the pleasure of talking on the 'Chatting Fit' podcast a few years ago, the content probably more relevant today than it was coming out the back of the covid chapter at the time back in 2022.

Always a pleasure to talk shop with anyone, especially to a wider audience.

Isn't it odd how the most simple things that bring so much peace, joy, and health, are wholly overlooked or even condemned, whilst being replaced by very unhealthy and damaging alternatives.

Eat junk food, rather than be healthy.

Over-consumption of alcohol, rather than modest healthy amounts or sobriety.

Constant eating, rather than intermittent or longer fasts.

Resentment, rather than forgiveness.

Greed, over Grace.

Constant anger, over love.

Modern conveniences, rather than elbow grease.

Driving, over walking.

Move on, rather than rectify.

Bitterness, over joy.

Indoors, rather than nature.

Deceit, over truth.

Jealousy, over compersion.

Friction, over prayer.

Excuses, rather than fruitful choices.

Stress, over calm.

We all slip-up, but who grows, and who stays in their lane...

What do we gravitate back to...

Why do some choose to live a life without meaning...

Why do we fall foul to the system, rather than embrace the true spirit of life itself and nature's playground.

Why do we give up our children, the closest thing to God and love, for alternative ways of self-validation and gratification.

I sat watching the eclipse, open to the reality of what is likely happening compared to what the headline tells us in every news outlet around the world, after more daily reflection. I remain thankful that life has given me habits to keep my body somewhat grounded to remain open-minded, when it could be so easy to fall foul to the rat race and everything that goes with it.

Off the rails!

I admired the sun's rays, in a 360 degree arc radiating through the sky. I noticed the perfect match as one luminary crossed the other. I noticed the change in the atmosphere, immediately. The change in nature. The change in temperature. Blink, and you could miss it all. That's just scratching the surface of what many dare not to notice, let alone question.

Sometimes you can just look, and not even think about it all, and take in the wonder of this world we live in with all it's glory.

Then on cue, the clouds rolled in!

During a busy day I made the time to visit the local church. I was the only person in there, it's often empty. I sat deep in thought, so much so I nearly knocked myself out on the bench in front as I nodded off. I knelt before Christ, and said some words. Words between me and the great power that gives life and governs it.

I am so thankful that my life brought me back to faith several years ago. Faith is always deep inside us, and many of us live by it without realising; it often just needs a simple situation to spark its resurrection, and our willing.

Anyway, that's enough from me, I think I've burnt my retinas 😎

An old long-term friend passed me details for the RAF Benevolent Fund recently. An incredible charity with many assets in it's staff and services. For anyone in the RAF Family, they are a very good first base for impartial and non-judgemental assistance with many matters. A lifesaver, and eternally thankful. It's why I'm sharing here. In every storm there is learning for ourselves, and for others.

Welcome to the RAF Benevolent Fund website. We offer a range of support to serving members of the RAF and their families and to veterans, which includes financial, housing, relationship, and emotional support.

I spoke to a teacher last year at my local climbing wall when I was there with both of my daughters. My eldest was showing off her maths ability, and the teacher said she could probably pass her GCSE maths now, and that she was better than some of the students already in year 11. Age 7. When you home educate, or work with any mind willing to learn on a 1:1 basis, you can achieve so much.

The number of people who doubted me when I made the decision to take my daughter out of school over three years ago, have never said a word to me since. For food reason. Cats and tongues. Nobody patted me on the back when I became a father. Not when I proved my worth as a full time dad. Not even when I proved everyone wrong home educating my kids. Not even when I said my youngest wasn't going to attend nursery. Everyone who meets my children asks what the secret is for their grace and joy and intellect. I say love, and prayer, and to be able to question everything mainstream without fear of condemnation, and then see for yourself.

There are children in this world age 11 that have full bachelor's degrees, and some have 2! In true scientific topics that require intelligence and creativity.

Every child has that ability to achieve greatness, every single one of them.

As for physical ability, that's a whole other level of prowess just waiting to be exploited in our young. Nothing beats the great outdoors, long days in nature, being under the sun or the moon, and seeing the world in all its glory for real; not a pantomime in a cage with much hocus pocus and white noise, never seeing the light of day.

Never ever believe you can't teach your kids, never be afraid to take the leap and take the reigns. Before you know it kids are captivated in learning for themselves, and as you guide them there is no stopping their quest for knowledge, and they'll be self-sufficient.

Children learn faster than adults.

But you have to be as invested as they are, that's the only rule.

Yesterday I taught my daughter my mobile number within 5-mins. God's honest truth. 5-mins. She recited it hours later without a hitch.

All 11-digits!

I should know a bit about coaching, I've lived and breathed it since I was a kid. I zoned out all through my school years, and still attained A's and B's in all of my GCSEs, whilst doing two paper rounds each morning, working many evenings at my local sports centre, and looking for every excuse to let my mind wander in the classroom and escape the house. I read so many books on training, and heroic sporting figures, I knew what I wanted to do in life.

I was also boxing several nights a week, running, lifting weights, and zipping all over the country by train (on my tod) to go climbing and mountaineering, all self-funded.

Age 16!

The more you open up to the world, the more it will guide you. To many this is all nonsense, as most believe what they are told, but to the millions who exist in a flow state of being, it's just the beginning.

I have no idea what will be in store for these angels, but I do know I have built a foundation like no other. Value your kids, make up the deficit at home if you have concerns in their learning, and never be afraid to go for that walk and let them explore.

Late last night I was reminded by my best friend of something very important, and something I've had all my life.

Myself.

I had commented that it was s**t being alone, in a place that was from a different journey, and no longer felt like home, with nowhere else to go, and no idea of the next steps, trapped in a horrid predicament, with no control, and time passing by.

I was drifting away from faith, and from the reality that something amazing is always coming.

In good time.

She said, "Al, you don't need anyone in life. You've got you. That's the most important thing there is. You. You've got this, you always have. You're a warrior."

Everything else is just material.

In that moment I remembered everything I've experienced and overcome since childhood, alone.

Never a truer word said.

Most of the people around us are not us. They don't know us. Especially our family. We grow up and leave the nest, so our family rarely truly knows us. The same for most of our friends. Most just know what we tell them, and they make up the rest in their heads and from others. Many act like they care, just for some gossip. Many will offer their support but rarely answer the phone. So many more want to see you suffer, and will gladly add to it or help it along. These last few months, but ultimately my life, has really taught me that through everything in life it is ultimately our own heart that must guide us. It has also taught me who my true friends are. The ones who are there daily, who live everything with you. The ones who you talk too without prejudice, without judgement, and deeply.

Nobody else, however, is more important than yourself.

In the darkest hardest moments we carry our own weight forwards.

Nobody else picks us up.

We have to do the work.

We have to breathe.

I am eternally grateful for my best friend, and those alongside who give their time to keep me grounded with the most important lessons in life. Every day is a learning day. There is no better interaction than that of a higher frequency of compassion.

People talk of true love, but the truest love is embodied right there in friendships that guide without judgement. That support your heart. That truly care. That communicate. That want to listen. That want to understand. That forgive. That want to support. That fight for and with you, for salvation. Always.

Many go through life without a good friend like that, despite maybe having so many friends and family on social media and at gatherings. Your soul mate doesn't always have to be in a marital sense, it might just be someone who prays for you, and has your back from afar, and operates from the exact same space of love and peace and care. One friend like that is worth more than a city of followers.

A rare find.

True love isn't all what it's made out to be in the movies, it's where your heart sits with those who embody the greatest gift of all, which is grace.

Love is the universal language of God, and these words I was compelled to write from beyond the moment. Understand them before they're gone!

There are lessons to be had every step in life, when you find the moment, free from booze, free from immediate stress, and when calm.

Peace ✌️
