Terrific turnout for our P1-7 section hosting Carrick Rugby at home in our season opener 😁😁
Coach Wendy - the Mighty Micros
A high energy start to the season with Team Captain, Douglas at the helm. Great effort all round, lots of trys, especially from Harris who was ready for action today- well done. Our boys generally watching the match and giving it Welly when running towards the try line. A brilliant first game for our P1 player, Freddie, who got up and dusted himself down when knocked over by bigger players. Good runs and some well aimed passes from Jack, Jack, Douglas and Charley.
POTM- Luke, who despite being a new player, was really watching the game- putting himself into good places and defending very well.
Coach Euan - P4/5
Irvine put in a fantastic effort with lots of hard tackles, plenty of passing and long runs. Huge shout out to all those playing their first match and to the micros moving up. Special shout out to Oscar for being top try scorer and Alfie for fearless tacking through the games.
POTM - Sonny & Gracie. Sonny, for consistent high energy and try scoring. Gracie for making a big impact in her first match with a try scored in the final play of the day.
Coach Cooney P6/7
All round our performance was positive and although the scoreline didn’t go in our favour we still managed to score a good few tries from great team work and link up play. A few work ons at training is required but the whole squad today should be proud of their performance and this a small stepping stone into the rest of the season. Every player had their moment in the game where they contributed to us either scoring or defending our try line, a couple of shout outs for Elyjiah who was always supporting the ball carrier, Jack for some storming runs down the wing and Alfie for being Captain today and leading the charge.
POTM - Jamie who scored a couple of cracking tries and was always giving positive advice to fellow players.
