Every year in the UK there are over 400,000 new Cancer diagnosis, that's 1100 per day or one every 78secs or so 😳...with statistics like that we're sure everyone has been touched by this at some point in their lives either directly or indirectly
One of our fantastic members, Jackie, has been squatting her 🍑 off throughout August to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Jackie’s commitment has been 100 squats per day, and she would be eternally grateful if you could support her via her Just Giving page.

Here's something that will make you smile.... today is National Fish & Chips day! 😋😋😋👏👏👏
The original British Take Away and Friday night staple of 'Fish 'n' Chips' is celebrated today, and we all know there's nothing like the smell of a Fish & Chip shop to make you want to rush inside and buy your portion of 'Cod & Chips'. That unique smell also brings back memories of eating your Fish and Chips out of the paper when on holiday at the seaside, or the excitement of Dad bringing them home on a Friday night!...
These days however we are more aware of the fact the good old traditional Fish & Chips are not the healthiest of meals, with the high levels of Omega 6 fatty acids absorbed from the re-heated vegetable oils, but the occasional treat is not going cause you health problems or lead you to "putting on weight", so why not indulge this evening and enjoy without any guilt! 😀
On the other hand you can also have a very healthy version of Fish & Chips as can be seen from the pictures, so now you can enjoy a regular "healthy" Fish & Chip supper 😀...so whatever your choice, either grilled Salmon or Sea Bass, along with oven baked Sweet Potato chips, asparagus, broccoli, mushy peas, cherry tomatoes on the vine and sauerkraut seasoned with Pink Himalayan Rock Salt, ground Black Pepper and Chilli Flakes😋😋........or the traditional Fish 'n' Chips with Crispy B**r Batter and pure white Cod, mushy peas and tartare sauce, seasoned with salt (Rock or Sea is the best) and vinegar (it has to be Sarsons! lol), ENJOY it mmmmm! 😋😋😋😋

Today is Shrove Tuesday or as most people know it....Pancake Day 🥞🥞 So Happy Pancake Day everybody 😁🥞💙🧡
Pancakes take only minutes to prepare and can be a great, healthy way to start your day, especially when made with protein! 😲😁. It is well documented that people who include protein at breakfast have better appetite control throughout the day and finishing your day with protein and good fats, help supply your body with the nutrients it needs to repair and grow while you sleep 💪......a win win for the protein pancake! 🥞😋.💙🧡
So not only are they a great way to start your day, they are also a great way to finish your day 😊… oh they’re also a great, quick, healthy snack for when the kids get home school today....or any day! 😋💙🧡
Here’s a simple recipe for healthy Protein Pancakes without added sugars or refined grains, with a Gluten Free option 🥞😋😀
For Gluten Free, use GF oats
Recipe (makes 4 pancakes)
Ingredients
40g Whey protein powder (your choice of flavour)
100ml Milk (your choice of milk, we use Almond)
1 large free-range egg
50g Organic porridge oats
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp baking powder
1 tsp Coconut oil
100g Greek yogurt
50g Blueberries
Method
1 Add the oats to a blender and blitz until it resembles a fine flour. Add the protein powder, baking powder, egg, milk and cinnamon to the blender too and blitz everything until you have a texture like pancake batter.
2 Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add enough oil to lightly grease the pan, approximately 1 tsp. to start (you will add more as needed for more pancakes).
3. Once the oil is hot, pour 1/4 of the pancake mixture into the centre of the pan. Tilt the pan in a circular motion so that the batter coats the surface evenly.
4 . Allow to cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the edges start to harden and a spatula can easily slide underneath the pancake.
Flip over and cook an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the batter is cooked through.
Repeat with remaining pancakes.
For an extra hit of protein, Fibre, Antioxidants, and enjoyment 😃😋, serve with some more 'Gut Healthy' plain Greek yogurt and fresh berries of your choice 🥞🫐🍓😋😋

We’re now 6 weeks into 2026 so how’s the “New Year, New You” thing going? 😃

Did you get up late this morning and missed your morning workout? 😔
Do you not have time to go to the gym during the day or after work? 😔
Don't worry because here's a great little workout you can do anytime and anywhere, at home, the office, hotel room, wherever you find yourself today, and all you need is 20mins and a skipping rope…possibly 😃
The Workout 🥵
Skipping x 60secs
Squats x 10
Press ups x 10 (or as many as you can up to 10)
Repeat x 10
Try and keep the workout continuous for the 10 rounds or use minimal rest when needed 🥵😃
Skipping on its own is a fantastic way to improve / maintain your health and fitness no matter what age, size, or fitness level you are, but combine it with a few squats and press ups and you have a full body HIIT & strength workout 💪
No skipping rope? 😬…no problem, just substitute the skipping for 60secs of running on the spot or high knees 😃
