Catching up on some sleep, resting the body and taking time to make sense of the adventure we have just experienced..

From first time paddlers to completing the Yukon1000.

First ever Father & Son team to complete the race. An inspiring and unique family journey ❤️

Youngest ever finisher 🔥 (Archie @ 20years old).

Brothers in arms. The first ever Scottish brothers to complete the race... 😃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

An amazing, life changing experience that comes with drug free hallucinations and some awesome wildlife thrown in. Bears, bear cubs, moose, beaver, eagles where all part of the package. Along with the 18-hour days, sleep deprivation, head winds, rain, searing heat, freezing night time temperatures, forest fires, The Flats and a river where you can’t see the sides. All of which makes for a magical cocktail that gives a great sense of achievement once consumed..
We even had an emergency rescue thrown in for good measure to make sure were on our toes ⛑️
The beauty, remoteness and vastness of the place is hard to comprehend or explain. Hopefully the photos help.
Thank you to Jon and the Team Yukon 1000 Race for an exceptional race and ultimately/most importantly a safe passage. We feel very lucky and privileged to have had this experience. More people have been up Everest than past Dawson City and into the Artic Circle.

We are grateful for all the new friendships made.

Thank you to all those who have donated to a great cause UNICEF. There is still time to donate for those that wish to now that we have crossed the finish line. 🛶

Learning no.1: Sleep in the tent, not under it and remember to take your wellies off before bed..
Laarning no.2: Don’t camp in ‘Midge City’
Learning no.3: Read the tent instructions properly to avoid the tent collapsing on top on you at midnight
Learning no.4: Peg tent to avoid it ending up in the loch
Learning no.5: Don’t leave half the kit in the van..
