Sometimes our aggressor might be concealing a weapon, meaning your reaction has to be quick, it may be a case of life or death. In this case you have to get in a position where you are able to get the weapon and neutralise your attacker by having to restrain them. This was beautifully demonstrated by one of our adult students here.

A stranger might not always be aggressive, however when invading personal space it's important that your safety comes first. This was demonstrated here by one of our students.
Asked the "stranger" to leave him alone and he wouldn't so progressively made his way up the ladder of communication which led to him eventually having to strike him to get away.

Quite often we practice drills until there near on perfect, why is it that when a camera comes out everyone gets camera shy and forgets what there doing. Am pretty sure there doing it to wind sensei up. This is the better one by Josh in the adults class, kids class attempts are in the comments.

So with the weather being as hot as it was it felt cruel to do traditional karate so we had a fun lesson.
After recapping break falls to prevent injury we had a quick lesson on kip ups from one of our green belts.
It was so fun even Sensei got involved 🥋

In life we have to learn how to correctly do things to prevent harm, injury, we are always learning as Humans. As they say “everyday is a school day” martial arts is tool to help with normal cognitive functions like coordination and balance. Discipline and focus is a byproduct of martial arts,
The more we put into practice the faster and better we learn. For example following simple instructions and demonstrations for someone 2 weeks into training vs a students 19 months into training. The offence in the movement is vast. But he didn’t start like this he trained and got better.

We have spaces available in Hessle and Willerby for new students and it’s a great way to learn how to move and keep fit, help with them fine and gross motor skills and how to behave action vs consequences. Plus we get to kick and punch each other (under strict and safe guidance of course).
