Hull Shukokai Karate Hull Shukokai Karate. The premier Shukokai karate school in Hull and East Yorkshire, we have been teaching karate in the area since 1969.

The club operates in several locations across the area, the times and locations are as follows:


Tuesday: 7pm - 8.30pm Hessle Dojo, Methodist Church Hall, Tower Hill, Hessle, HU13 0SP

Wednesday: 7pm - 8.30pm Wyke Dojo, Bricknell Avenue Methodist

Saturday: 10am - 12 noon. Hessle Dojo

New starters are always welcome and need no special equipment, Just wear some loose fitting sports wear and feel free to come and join in.

The 4 hours course covered everything from Khion, Kata and Kumite. Everyone worked hard and got a good sweat on. 🥋👊🏻

Summer Open Course – This Sunday!

A reminder that our Summer Open Course takes place this Sunday, 14th June, from 11:00am – 3:00pm, at the usual Seminar venue in Stretford.

The course is open to all grades and will be taught by the association’s senior grades (6th Dan and above), giving students a great opportunity to train with a variety of instructors.

Course Fees:
• 1 person – £25
• 2nd family member – £20
• 3rd family member – £15
• 4th family member – Free

We look forward to seeing as many members as possible.

The class voted our new 5 year old Fay as Star of the week, for overcoming her fear as the youngest in the group and conducting the whole of the lesson with a smile on her face 😁

Back from Japan, our Sensei's ready to impart their new knowledge on our students and our kids club was a busy affair with Alice as our new student showing great potential.
We covered and approached some basics of gyaku zuki and oi zuki, 'gamifying' them to get the flow of the movement, before honing them in to striking a pad and using it in a real life situation.
Everyone got at least one vote in the 'who done good' so feeling happy to be back, they all got 'student of the week'! 🥋⭐
