Cornwall's only SDI - Scuba Diving International Training Facility based in Helston. (We are small but mighty!)

We teach courses from Scuba Discovery to Divemaster. We lead Scuba & Snorkel Tours in Newquay, Falmouth, Penzance & Lizard Peninsula. We sell all forms of scuba & other watersports equipment from well known Brands such as Northern Diver, Fourth Element, Hollis, OrcaTorch, Oceanic, Zeagl

e, BARE, IST Dolphin, Sea&Sea and many many more! We are active marine conservationists and have our own in house marine biologists working with us to provide the very best education on every dive. We are also the United KIngdom's ONLY Scuba Training Facility to have it's own Lobster Release Program and our Director & Owner 'Ryan Hunnisett' is the Ambassador to the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow. This Saturday 13th June, we are doing two Guided Dives on the UC92 in Falmouth and we currently have 4 spaces available for anyone else who would like to join! 🤿🤿🤿🤿

Of all the remaining U-boat wreckages in Falmouth, this one is the most intact, split up into 3 parts and quite often mistaken for reef. 🛥️

The total depth of this Dive is no more than 8 metres and easily accessible from the shore... Perfect for anyone who is fresh from their Open Water course, divers who have never done a UK sea dive and refresher divers getting back into the hobby! 😎👌

There is also a very old, very crusty resident lobster who had been living amongst the wreckage for the past 10 years, so hopefully we'll catch a glimpse of him too! 🤞🦞 But don't feel bad if we don't, as we normally see a ton of other marine life here as well! 🐟🦐🪼🐙🦀🦈🦭

Yesterday (06/06/26) we released 600 baby lobsters at The National Trust Durgan, Falmouth! 🦞

Unfortunately we had to cancel the dive as the weather and sea conditions were too hazardous to get in. 🌧️🌬️🌊

So instead, we donned our wetsuits and waded into Durgan beach and released the baby lobsters there. 🦞🦞

Durgan sits in the Helford river estuary and has a huge seagrass, which is an ideal nursery for the baby lobsters to find food and hide from predators. 🌱🦞🌱

Massive thank you Ozzy for wading in with us to release these wonderful little creatures and for helping us support the National Lobster Hatchery 😎

This weekend's experience has been enough to convince Ozzy to sign up to our SDI - Scuba Diving International Lobster Release Diver course - a growing team of dedicated divers who want to support our lobster populations here in the UK! 🤿🦞😎🇬🇧

We only run a few of the courses a year to coincide with the Lobster breeding season and spaces all already filling up fast! 👀

Massive well done to Richard & Solomon Marshall on completing their Scuba Experience with us yesterday, at Mullion Cove! 🤿🥳 Big thank you to my dive team Nick Turton and Harry Izzard for making this a memorable day! 😎😁

Now is the time to have a go at scuba diving, with water temperature at 15'c and warming up nicely, fantastic visibility and all the marine life have come out to play! 🦞🐟🐙🪼😎

We offer Scuba Experiences for just £90pp, includes full equipment hire + cylinders and you'll do it at one of our confined sea training sites, so it's highly likely you'll see marine life on your first ever dive! 😉🦭🦀🪼🐟🦈

Wow an amazing week! 😁

Monday 18th, Jon Kirk booked us for 3 guided dives at Porthkerris Divers where we were tripping over marine life! Lots of octopus, crawfish, jellyfish, big Ballan wrasse, spidercrabs, hermit crabs and so much more! 🤿🦞🪼🐙🦀🐟🦐

Tuesday 19th, was day one of our SDI Lobster Release Diver course where we visited the National Lobster Hatchery for a special behind the scenes tour and learned all about the work that goes into lobster conservation. 🦞🦞

Wednesday 20th, Jon Kirk successfully passed his Lobster Release Diver course! Two dives with the first learning the different releases methods and the pro/cons of each.
Second dive, Jon demonstrated great dive planning using one of the methods and successfully released 250 baby lobsters at Pendennis Point, Falmouth! A special big thank you to Jools Mason (one of our students from last year's Lobster Release Diver course) for being Jon's buddy for the day! 🦞🦞🦞🤿🤘

(Whilst on the subject of lobsters, we know that David Skinner's Viewpoint Dive Club based in St Austell is doing their own Lobster Release today. We at Scuba Ry Divers would to wish all their divers a very happy & successful release and many thanks for spreading the lobster love in your area! 😎👌🤿🦞).

Friday 22nd, Jon then successfully completed his SDI Search & Recovery course at Porthoustock beach. This is a tough course and Jon mastered it brilliantly! 🥳🥳😎

And then finally Saturday 23rd, Jon Kirk, Jonathan Gibson, Anna and Loki Cullen went out for two guided dives to visit the old WW1 German U-boats at Silversteps in Falmouth. The visibility was a stunning 10 metres, 14 degrees water temperature and lots of lovely marine life to see such as Catsharks, Conger eels, big edible crabs, sandeels, beautiful wrasses ... I could go on! 🤿🦞🦐🐟🦀🐙🪼

A big thank you to my dive team Clive Lewis , James Humphrey, Phil Smith for their support and making this week truly memorable and rewarding! We all had lots of great laughs, learning together and fantastic dives!

Lovely Solo Dive at Silver steps in Falmouth yesterday!

Lots of marine life to be found and visited one of the old German U-boats, a bit further around the reef.

Fantastic opportunity to test out my first Wing! (More to come about that later 😉).

Visibility: 6 metres.
Water Temperature 13 degrees.
Depth: 6.5 metres on a very low tide.
Dive time: 59 minutes.

This is a unique speciality that isn't taught anywhere else and will allow you to help support the National Lobster Hatchery mission on conserving lobster stocks throughout Cornwall! 🦞🦞🤘

Included in the course is a behind the scenes tour of the hatchery, two dives and some goodies to take home with you! 🦞🤿🤿😁

You only need to be a minimum of Open Water qualified and at least two UK sea dives within the last 12 months to take part! 😎
