Today we Swapped our “Mollie May” for “Mary May” . Mary May is our 15’ Cornish Rowing skiff , number 54. We don’t get much time to use her, but today was the 75th anniversary of the Cornish rowing association, and the plan was to get as many Cornish skiffs together in Truro as possible.
Nice seeing them all lined up on such a sunny day .
Back to Newlyn and Mollie May tomorrow. Our 1500 fishing trip is full , but still spaces available earlier in day for fishing and coastal cruises .
On Monday we have spaces on a 4hr fishing trip . Leaving Newlyn at 1100 .
After this we plan to return to Porthleven as the Baulks came out today 🎉

While the Baulks are still in at Porthleven, Mollie May will be running trips from Newlyn.

I was given a simple brief for this morning’s Birthday party cruise … Dolphins !! . Sightings have been low recently around Porthleven, so we had an early start and pushed a bit further west than usual. It was well worth it . We got some good pictures that I’ll upload soon . 🐬

Sightseeing and wildlife spotting.
Leaving Newlyn at 9am, heading to Mousehole for a bit of seal spotting before a cruise across the bay towards St Michaels mount then back to Newlyn . Looking out for wildlife on the way .

A few pics from a tricky week . Sea conditions just too uncomfortable to take passengers at times . On a positive note though, the mackerel seem to be slowly showing up .
This coming weeks forecast is for more moderate southwesterly winds , so we will be moving Mollie May to Newlyn tomorrow morning. This means we can still atleast offer coastal cruises from Newlyn, along the Lee shore past Mousehole, looking for seals and other wildlife . Fishing or longer coastal cruise also on request. We are less restricted by the tides in Newlyn, so we can offer our trips from sunrise to sunset.
