The fixtures are out and both Brods U17s and U18s are in the Yorkshire Colts Leagues this season.
Both sides start at home in the final week of September, with the U17s opening against Heath.
It is a proper local derby, but also one between clubs and players who know each other well. Plenty of friendships off the pitch, plenty of respect between the sides, and then for 80 minutes none of it matters quite so much. There will be familiar faces, local bragging rights and no shortage of motivation, but that is exactly what makes these games so good. Competitive on the pitch, mates again afterwards.
The U18s also open at Woodhead Park against Grimsby who have now officially left Lincolnshire and moved to God’s Own County and who can blame them.
