We love celebrating the success of our junior cricketers at Lightcliffe – and our U11s performance in the past couple of days is definitely worth a mention.

In the space of just 3️⃣6️⃣ hours, the squad played 3️⃣ matches across 3️⃣ leagues featuring 2️⃣0️⃣ different players taking an incredible 3️⃣6️⃣ wickets and scoring 3️⃣6️⃣4️⃣ runs 💪

An excellent showing, matches played in the best of spirits, and reward for all the hard work and determination put in week-in, week-out at training.

We’re proud of each and every member of the squad and grateful to our volunteer U11 coaches James, Neil, Gaz & Gaz for all their efforts supporting the boys and girls 👏

💪 WINNING WEEKEND >>

For the first time this season, all our senior teams won their weekend fixtures, and it included the 3rd XI reaching the Final of the Halifax League Rod Warhurst Cup 🏆

It’s been a double winning day for Lightcliffe as rain-shortened games against Batley for the 1sts and 2nds ended in two victories.

🏏 At home, the 1st XI beat Batley by 86 runs. Openers Niall Lockley (50 from 40) and Hasan Raza (58 from 55) got the Villagers off to a flying start. Set 217 to win from their 30 overs, Batley fell well short ending on 130 all out - Leo Flanagan taking the final wicket 🔽

🏏 2nd XI also beat Batley - this time at their home and in a tighter game by 21 runs. An impressive 91 for Rhys Jowett the batting highlight while young Villagers shone with the ball - 4-56 for Lucas Arnot and 3-46 for Sam Walker.

Congratulations to all our players and thank you for the support at home and away 👏👏👏

Ollie Robinson clearly decided he wasn’t content with just appearing on the staircase gallery in our Pavilion…

Congratulations to our Lightcliffe alumnus on featuring on The Honours Board at Lord's with his brilliant 5-39 for England v New Zealand.

For those who don’t know, Ollie played at Till Carr Lane in 2013 & 2014 and was part of the team who won The Bradford Premier Cricket League Priestley Cup in the 2013 season.
