A scorching Open Day 🌞🌞🌞 at Hadlow Bowls Club and 15 local people had a go at bowls for the first time 👏👏👏👏that’s what it’s all about Kent County Bowling Association.

The domino effect of bad body language…

In bowls, your teammates don’t just hear you,they read you every second.

It only takes one moment… a crossed arm, a shake of the head, walking off early… and it starts a chain reaction. You might think you’re just reacting, but your team sees something else. They see doubt. They feel pressure. And suddenly that one moment turns into hesitation on the next bowl, then tighter shots, less communication, and a team that slowly starts to unravel.

That’s the domino effect.

Bad body language doesn’t stay with you, it spreads. It creeps into your teammate’s confidence, it makes them second guess themselves, and before you know it, you’re not just playing the opposition… you’re fighting your own energy.

But here’s the thing…it works both ways.

One calm response, one bit of encouragement, one steady presence can flip the entire feeling of a game. It can settle nerves, build belief, and remind your team that you’re still in it together.

Because in bowls, it’s not just about the bowls you deliver… it’s about the energy you bring.

So next time something doesn’t go your way, ask yourself:
What message am I sending right now?

THE GRASS IS GREENER 🌱

Lead Starter Pack

• Told “just get it close”… simple right? 😅
• First bowl = feeling it out… second bowl = pressure is ON
• Sets the tone and suddenly it’s everyone else’s expectations now 👀
• Walks off thinking “that’s a good start” (it’s either perfect or nowhere near 😂)
• Knows a good opening bowl changes EVERYTHING
• Quietly loves outdrawing the opposition lead 😏
• Hates when someone says “just repeat that”
• Gets blamed for a bad start… forgotten after a good one
• Always first on the green, watching how it’s running
• Lowkey one of the most important players on the rink 💯
