The Asolo Freney Evo.

My favourite boot of the Asolo range. I wish I’d had these when I was serving as IMO they are such a great all round boot. Tough, easy to clean, supportive but not overly heavy with it, grippy, warm and comfortable.

My latest expedition out exploring round the costal paths near Tintagel and into the beach caves, during some pretty rough weather these again proved their worth.

I remember back when it was released watching Nims “Project Possible” and literally watching it again straight after, I couldn’t believe someone was capable of doing what he had just done, it truly was the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

The news the other day that Nims and his teammates had been lost on Broad Peak felt really personal, I think every person who saw that documentary felt the same, let alone the wider Veteran community and all who knew Nims such was the inspirational presence of the man.

Nims was obviously the prominent member of the team lost on that mountain, but 9 others also lost their lives that day and our thoughts are with all their friends and families as they come to terms with the loss.

Let us also not forget the bravery of the rescue teams as they risk their own lives to recover fellow mountaineers.
