With the weather cooling off a bit after the long hot spell and a few days of heavy showers, it was time to have a quick morning session at Hollies Trout Fishery.

Hollies is a small Stillwater fishery near Honiton in Devon, nice quality fish, w**d free with catch and keep and catch and release available.

Arrived about 08:30, very bright conditions, water a little bit coloured from the rain but overall visibility was not too bad.

Couple of knocks on a blue flash damsel to start with but didn't manage to hook up. Fish were willing to chase a bit if you could get their attention with many swiping darts at the fly.

Ended up with two rainbows, one on an olive apps bloodworm and one on a gold head hates ear.

Nice couple of hours and good to get out again and dust off the cobwebs after the long spell of extremely hot weather.

Some lovely organza crunchers tied by John Kirk on our Size 12 wide gape wet hooks and 3mm Precut and Stripped organza.

Black and red organza on the bibio style cruncher and golden brown organza on the other. Both of these look great and will certainly catch plenty of fish.
