FORMULA 750 — BRING THE BIG BIKES BACK!

There are few periods of motorcycle racing quite like Formula 750.

Big engines. Big personalities. And machinery that became synonymous with Daytona, Imola, the Transatlantic races and some of the greatest names in the sport.

Triumph. BSA. Norton. Honda. Ducati. Laverda.

The CRMC Formula 750 Championship will be back in 2027 — and we want to see more of these incredible machines back where they belong: on the race track.

There are bikes sitting in garages and workshops across the country that we’d love to see return to competition.

So if you own an eligible F750 machine, used to race one, are rebuilding one, or know somebody with one tucked away… We want it out on the track!

So… what will you race in 2027?

There’s plenty to choose from!

Our established CRMC classes will be back, while CB500s and Carbed Twins head into another season and the brand-new Naked Streetbike classes join the programme for the first time.

Whether you’re rebuilding something already in the garage, looking for a different class, putting together a new project or thinking about having your first go at racing, now is the time to start making plans.

We’d love to hear what people are working on over the winter.

Final CRMC meeting of 2026 at Mallory Park.
Blustery conditions but, fortunately 😀, dry for the times that it mattered to me!
First time round Mallory using Edwina's so no lap times to compare.

The bikes would have been in back to back races, which I really can't do on me tod, so decided to take the Pantah out in the Parades (another first for me) instead - it ran faultlessly all weekend and was great fun, though its light weight was quite interesting in the wind round Gerard's at times...

Small grid of just 11 bikes (in 4 different classes...) for the RPS Trident. The good news was that there was no sign of the gear shift problems that plagued us when it was last out at the Goodwood Members Meeting in April.
Two good scraps with Matthew Morgan on another Trident on Saturday, though had to cede 2nd in class to him in both races.
Sunday was a different matter as Matthew pulled his finger out and dropped his lap times by 4 seconds while I overheated the clutch off the start line of Race 23 and had to nurse it round before parking up and missing the 4th race.

It’s not just our final round at Mallory Park Circuit to look forward to this weekend… our 2027 date drop is happening on Friday too!

Final CRMC meeting of the year coming up - so will be heading to Mallory Park next week with the RPS Trident and Ducati Pantah.

Unfortunately the timetable and class mixes have them out in back to back races which I just can't do ☹️
So have had to move the Pantah to the parades for the weekend - which will be a first for me, but at least I'll get to ride both bikes (weather permitting 😂)

Another double Ducati weekend for the CRMC Donington Classic Festival.
Following an excellent Classic Bike Trackdays day on Friday the weekend's CRMC meeting was a bit of a stop start affair with many more red flags than expected - best wishes and a speedy recovery to all those involved.
Highlights were improving personal best lap on the Pantah by 1.5 seconds and running much closer to 2nd and 3rd in that class than I had at Snetterton.
Next up CRMC Mallory Park🤞though that depends on how the class mix and race schedule are organised 🤞

Finally... some time for a quick update following CRMC Round 3 at Snetterton.

P&M preparations didn't go as planned - fortunately, with bikes in different classes racing together, it was possible to do the same races on different bikes so it became a double Ducati weekend instead.

First out to play was the 500 Pantah and all 4 races followed a similar pattern. Starting in the second wave I had an initial tussle with Gary Bransgrove on his Laverda Monjuic, followed by a few laps on my own before the faster CB500s from the 1st wave started dive bombing me towards the end 😂
Overall a good weekend with one second and three third places in class - and a nice 3rd place slate trophy from Race 1 which was a first for the Pantah in my hands.

Having owned and done nearly 100 track days on it since 2004, the 853 finally got to make its race debut 😀
As with the Pantah all the races followed a similar pattern - an initial few laps with other bikes, then some laps on my own before being well and truly shown the way it should be done by the fast boys!

An excellent weekend going round and round in the sun 😀
