As one of the largest clubs in the Athletic Union the Tennis Club is able to offer something positive to players of any ability, whether you want to be the next Andy Murray or simply want to learn a new sport in a welcoming environment! The club has ten teams, six in BUCS, but is open to players of all standards. For members just looking to play socially we offer eight hours of free court time an

d four hours of free coaching from professionally qualified coaches each week as well as intramural and one-off competitions. Aside from the tennis socials we provide a fun and welcoming atmosphere to members while big events such as the Christmas ball and Valentines ball always prove extremely popular.

Essential requirements:
•⁠ ⁠Previous coaching experience in club, university or equivalent level
•⁠ ⁠Relevant coaching qualification (minimum Accredited LTA Level 3)
•⁠ ⁠Knowledge of athlete development and team performance environments
•⁠ ⁠Understanding of student sport or university-level structures e.g., BUCS
•⁠ ⁠Ability to plan and deliver structured coaching sessions
•⁠ ⁠Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•⁠ ⁠Ability to work collaboratively with student committees and support staff
•⁠ ⁠Understanding of safeguarding and player welfare responsibilities
•⁠ ⁠Willingness to complete mandatory training required by the club

Desirable requirements:
•⁠ ⁠Experience coaching multiple teams simultaneously
•⁠ ⁠Experience in a student-led or volunteer sport environment
•⁠ ⁠Experience in sports administration

🎾 Welcome to Week 5 of Term 3!

We’re now in the second-to-last week of term — it’s hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by. Whether you’re finishing off exams, wrapping up coursework, or simply counting down the days until summer, we hope the end of term is treating you well.

This week, all available court time will be running as free court sessions. It’s a great opportunity to get on court with friends, have a hit, play some matches, or simply enjoy some tennis without the structure of coached sessions.

As always, please check the timetable before heading down to the courts.

🎟️ Tickets go live on Fixr at 6pm on Sunday as usual, and memberships are required to book court time.

🎾 Welcome to Week 3 of Term 3!

Best of luck to everyone with exams still to come, and well done to those who have already finished some — we know it’s been a stressful few weeks, so hopefully you’re all taking care of yourselves alongside revision.

Our schedule is a little different this week, with a lot more free court time available throughout the week. If you’re looking for a break from studying, want to get some hitting in with friends, or just spend some time outside, make the most of the extra court availability while you can.

As always, please double-check the timetable before heading down to the courts.
