Last night was the conclusion of our floodlit pairs competition. Unfortunately there was a poor turn out to witness the final but there were some great bowls played by the four teams. The runners up were Peter Allan and Willie Christie and the champions for this year were Forbes Stephen and Gary Butler so massive congratulations to you both.

On Saturday 12th of September we have our beginners trophy. This year we have 13 players playing in a singles round robin. We play it like a tournament so the bar will be open and teas and coffee. We are starting at 10 o'clock and all members of the club are welcome to come along to help, play (as need a couple extras) or even to cheer them on. Hopefully we will see you there.
If you fancy helping out just let me know even if you haven't done marking before.

Cheers
Shirley Christie

Tonight we held the final stages of our gents 2 bowl singles. A slightly different format this season, we held a round robin qualifier with the top 2 in each section coming through to tonight So we had 8 players and played a quarter final semi final and final all played over 11 ends. The finalists were Robert Marshall and Peter Knoll who both came through tight semi finals Robert beating our new Club Champion Tom Rattray 8-6 and Peter overcoming Alistair Campbell winning it with his last bowl in an extra end. In the final Robert had a great start and although Peter responded with a couple of shots it was Robert who won the trophy so congratulations to Robert and hard luck Peter. Past President Alistair Spence handing over the trophy to Robert.
