After all the excitement of our 1st birthday event yesterday we are looking forward to starting our 2nd year of junior parkrunning at Hailes Quarry on Sunday.

A year ago we launched the Hailes Quarry Junior Parkrun bringing a free, weekly, family event where everyone is made to feel welcome, and part of a super positive, motivated family of people all across the country, and planet. From the very young to the considerably more experienced members of our community it's a truly intergenrational event that celebrates everything good about our communites, bringing folks from all walks of life together, supporting each other, and celebrating each persons acheivements and milestones. We really can't thank everyone who has supported us enough. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Some amazing stats from the first year ❤️
⚡645 young folk registered with us as their home event
⚡3681 individual runs completeds by participants
⚡820 different runners have completed our event
⚡1317 volunteer occassions completed
⚡225 individual volunteers have supported us
⚡14 local primaries partnered up as Parkrun Primaries

That translates into so many good health and wellbeing outcomes for everyone involved. Truly amazing. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

And most importanly it's always 100% - fun!!!

Thanks so much to Ben and the incredible Adam, for volunteering to get everyone warmed up this morning. Great to see Adam incorprating some yoga moves he learned at school this week. ❤❤❤❤ 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♀️ We're been so lucky to have the support of huge range of volunteers, from the very young to the slightly older folks. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Happy birthday to us for run #52! Can't beleive a year has flown by since we launched.
We welcomed a fantastic 88 young folk with parents, grandparents, carers, and friends who ran, jogged, and walked around the course.

🫶 - 10 doing their first ever Parkrun. ❤
👊 - 2 running our course for the first time.💫

A HUGE well done to everyone who ran, jogged, or walked, especially the 18 runners who achieved new Personal Bests. 👏

We're a couple of timekeepers and marshals short for our 1st anniversary run tomorrow if anyone can help us out 🙏🙏

Great to see Ruaridh Cockburn claim a new PB by 1 second and claiming first place for the first time! Great perseverance and a shout out to his brother Murray who finished just behind in 3rd place. Great to see Joseph Smith claim second place on his first crack at our course. Well done lads. 👏👏👏

Ruby Logan was the first female runner over the line in 4th place and only a couple of seconds off a PB. Top job Ruby 👏👏👏

Almost 50% of our runners claimed a PB today despite the dreich weather proving that persevering and turning out each week pays dividends 💰💰💰 Well done everyone for turning out. You all got stronger and fitter 🫵👊✊

Cant wait to see you all next week for our 1st anniversary run ❤
