We had some fun this morning as part of the parkrun UK celebrations. Incredible stats!

"Since parkrun began on that autumn morning in October 2004, over 8.3 million people have taken part in parkrun, and more than one million different people have volunteered. That adds up to parkrunners crossing the finish line 138 million times, and more than 16 million volunteering moments helping to bring events to life each week."

RD Alan presenting Connor Smith with his marathon wristband. Connor was at our first ever event, and has completed all his runs with us. He's discovered a passion for running and entered the Edinburgh Marathon Festival's 1K event, a couple of weeks back and came first. ❤️ Top job!

Jacob Dickson has completed all of his runs at our event too and we were super stoked to present him with his half-marathon wristband. Great work! ❤️

Dixie McAllister completed all her runs with us too and we were delighted to present her with her half-marathon wristband. Way to go! ❤️

On the weekend when we celebrate the millionth Parkrun event, and our own 40th, we got a beautiful morning to welcome an amazing 79 young folk with parents, grandparents, carers, and friends ran, jogged, and walked around the course.
- a fantastic 9 doing their first ever Parkrun. 🫶🫶🫶🫶
- 4 running our course for the first time 👊

A HUGE well done to everyone who ran, jogged, or walked, especially the 19 runners who achieved new Personal Bests 👏💪

🎖️ Milestone celebrations today too:
🔵 - Jacob Dickson and Dixie McAllister both received their half-marathon wristbands.
🟢- Connor Smith received his Marathon wristband today – congratulations! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

As always, this event simply wouldn’t happen without our incredible team of 23 lovely volunteers who kept everything safe, smooth, and fun. Thank you all so much 💙 🙏

⚽ Scotland v Haiti kicks off before Hailes Quarry junior parkrun this Sunday, and we're looking for a few volunteer marshals.
