Everyone at Strangford Football Club sends their best wishes to Paul Donnelly who suffered a broken jaw yesterday . Paul is due to have surgery tomorrow and we wish him all the best with it. Hopefully it won’t be too long before we see him back on the pitch again.

We play our first ever Northern Amateur Football League game tomorrow.

The lads travel to Dundonald to play Belfast United.

It was a frustrating afternoon for our young first team as we exited the Junior Cup to Belfast Athletic. Best of luck to Belfast Athletic for the rest of the season.

QUAIL, 19th August 2026, BRIEGE née McComiskey, peacefully at Downe Hospital surrounded by her loving family, dearly beloved wife of the late Wilfred, much loved mother of Deirdre, Peter, Patricia, Anne, James, Donna and the late John, a dear mother-in-law, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, much loved sister of Seamus, Pat and the late Mairead. May She Rest In Peace.

Requiem Mass will be held in St. Patrick's Church, Downpatrick on Saturday 22nd August at 11:00am. Interment afterwards in Struell Cemetery.

Briege shall be reposing in Charles Rourke and Sons Funeral Home, 51 Church Street, Downpatrick, BT30 6EH on Thursday 20th August 6pm – 8pm and Friday 21st from 2pm – 4pm (with family present).
