We’re delighted to confirm that our first team have officially been accepted into the Northern Amateur Football League for the 2026/27 season. We will play in the newly formed Division 2D.

This is a massive step forward for the club and is a reflection of the work the committee, coaches and players have undertaken over the last 10 years.

Our seconds team will continue in the Newcastle league and compete for the Bobby Dalzell and Harry Clarke Cups.

HYNDS Gerald, 1 Rooneystown Lane, St Patrick's Road, Raholp, Saul, RIP died Saturday 23 May peacefully at home after a long illness.

Dearly beloved husband of Margaret, loving father of Gerald, Geraldine, Lorraine and the late James, son-in-laws Gerald and the late Damien, daughter-in-laws Maria and the late Bernadette. Dear brother of Mary and Ann and brother-in-laws Patrick and the late Sean, nephews and nieces. A much loved grandfather and great-grandfather.

Funeral from his late residence, 1 Rooneystown Lane, Raholp on Wednesday 27 May leaving his residence at 11.15 am for 12 noon Mass in St Patrick's Church, Saul. Private cremation to follow.

Family and friends welcome to pay their respects from 10am to 11pm each day. Family only on morning of funeral. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Marie Curie c/o the family.

We held our Senior End of Season Awards last Saturday in the Lobster Pot.
A big thank you to Sara Kilgore at The Lobster Pot for the venue, Kit Room for the trophies and Adrian Breen for taking the photographs.
Also a big thank you our management teams for their time and dedication this season.
A special mention to Brendan Kerr who has stepped down as second team manger after 5 seasons of service.

Our first team wrapped up the season with an excellent 5-2 away victory against Downpatrick on Saturday. The win sees us finishing second place in the league. Conal Fitzsimmons fantastic hat trick took his total to 38 for the season. and the game also marked James Shields first senior goal for Strangford.

SAVAGE, 25th April 2026, BRIDGETTA (nee Blaney), passed away peacefully at the RVH, surrounded by her loving family, dearly devoted wife to Kieran, loving and proud mother to Anthea, Stephanie, Marti, Ciara, Janine, Bridgene and Sarah, cherished mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, loving sister and friend. May she rest in peace.

Requiem Mass will be held in St. Malachy’s Church Kilclief on Wednesday 29th April at 10.00am followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.

Family and close friends may pay their respects at Bridgetta’s late family home on Monday 27th April from 6.00pm - 8.00pm and Tuesday 28th April from 4.00pm -7.00pm.
