Five incredible icons celebrated so far and we are not halfway through the year. As Road Racing Ireland marks its 40th anniversary year, the legends keep coming.

This month it is the incomparable Robert Dunlop — a 15 time winner of the North West 200.

The June issue will be on sale online from tomorrow and in shops early next week.

The 2026 Bishopscourt Motor Races
The 2026 Bishopscourt Motor Races is set to take place this weekend, May
16th and May 17th, at the famous Bishopscourt Motor Racing circuit, located
near Downpatrick, County Down.
The Bishopscourt Motor Races is a yearly event, giving circuit racers across
Ireland the opportunity to race at the fastest circuit on the island. Bishopscourt
is one of a handful of circuits remaining in Northern Ireland, and began life as
a World War 2 airbase. Having undergone renovation in recent years, it is now
a staple in the Irish and Northern Irish racing calendar.
The event aims to build on a successful weekend in 2025, which saw Formula
Boss Ireland driver Cian Carey break the overall circuit lap record. His new lap
record, set in a Dallara F320, now stands at 1.01.352.
The 2026 event will feature classes both north and south of the border. These
include Formula Boss Ireland, Formula Vee Ireland, Formula Sheane, Future
Classics, HRCA, Mazda Modi-5, Irish Global Lights, Irish Legends, ITCC, NI
Sevens, Seat Supercup Ireland, Strykers, Formula Ford 1600 and the all new
Irish All Comers, who will make their class debut at the event.
Qualifying will take place on Saturday, with the majority of the racing occurring
on Sunday. Entry to the event is free on Saturday, and will cost £15.00 on
Sunday, with credit card and QR code payment available at the gate.
Saturday will also see an exclusive question and answer event at 6.30pm,
featuring former Formula 1 drivers Martin Donnelly and Derek Daly. Derek will
be selling and signing copies of his new book ‘Serial Survivor.
