Now that was a proper mountain bike weekender. 👏🏻

Day 2 of our Peak District trip brought together all the reasons we love riding these classic natural routes every September. Big views, rugged, challenging terrain, up and down, all coupled with hearty local food and cozy, comfortable old coaching inns.

That's it for 2026 for the Peak District and our other 'big country', with just the EPIC ONE (7 days in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿) to go at the end of this month.

Most are now live for 2027. Dig out your diaries and plan your MTB holidays with us next year.

September has arrived, which means a return to the Peak District.

This trip is the definition of classic, natural mountain biking. The ancient packhorse trails and distinctive Dark Peak landscape provide fun and challenge in equal measure.

Tanja, John, Martin, Richard, and Ian kicked off the weekend with Jacob's Ladder: the benchmark for big-country riding in the UK.

How was Marmalade's first women-specific intro ride?

It was great!

Five riders joined our Rachel for a few hours practising core off-road skills, interspersed with the fun singletrack of the Surrey Hills.

For these riders, this was a chance to build skills in a female-only setting. For Marmalade, this was a sign that our riders really appreciate choices like this.

We'll let you know when our next women's specific ride is scheduled. But the next intro session in the calendar is our 'Coach & Ride: the Basics' – open to all adults – on Saturday 12 September.

September. Now it's the grown-ups' turn!

After a summer filled with amazing progress for our younger riders, it's back to school and time for us to turn our basics-level coaching to the adults...

Our 'Basics' coach and ride sessions are all about getting sorted with the fundamentals of mountain biking technique, making you safer and more relaxed.

We learn basic off-road skills in a friendly supportive atmosphere, mixed with fun riding on handpicked beginner-friendly trails in the Surrey Hills.

New dates for 2027 are coming soon for the return of our newest Scottish adventure.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Back in mid-August, Sue, Gaynor, Mark, Paul and Jim became our very first group to sample four days of riding in Liz's back yard over in Dumfries and Galloway.

Our final day was all about the sublime singletrack and remote goodness of Ae Forest.

Naturally, a trip to a Seven Stanes venue wouldn't be complete without hunting out the stone for a group photo.

Chuanlong works long days chauffeuring holidaymakers around the sights of London, so personal downtime is rare.

It has been a busy summer of private experiences, from 1-to-1 escapes like Chuanlong's to fully bespoke cycling packages, such as the Stonehenge adventure we delivered for a visiting American family.

Autumn in the Surrey Hills holds so much to look forward to.

The changing colours of the Hurtwood, the beautiful light, and, of course, cooler temperatures for riding.

After an amazing summer for youth mountain biking, we're keeping up momentum with another intro session on Sunday 3 October and our increasingly popular two-day camp on 27-28th, during half term – both for 9-14-year-olds.

And why should the youngsters have all the fun? Our adults' weekender at the end of October will mix the fun of Surrey Hills riding with the chance to unwind and enjoy a couple of evenings relaxing in a National Landscape that's just as famous for its hospitality as for its mountain biking.

We finished the school holidays with a BLAST!

This week's two-day youth camp was the perfect way to enjoy the end-of-summer Surrey Hills sunshine – with fun trails, skills coaching from Paul and Clive, and even pizza-making for those who stayed over.

Thanks for riding with us Jack, Elizabeth, Charlie, Charlie, Philo, Leo and Jensen! You were loads of fun, and all made excellent progress with your off-road skills.

This two-day camp for keen off-roaders is back in October half-term. Bookings are open!
