A wonderfully sunny last day of camp yesterday. Thank you to all the children who joined us this Easter holidays for lambie feeding, goat grooming, pony handling, learning about egg cycles with our chickens and more!!

We had so much fun at our holiday camps last week.. chicken cuddling, lamb feeding, pony grooming and making friends. Such a wondered cohort of children who all gained their certificates for the knowledge they learnt. Looking forward to next weeks camps ❤️

“Aaaaaahhhhhhh!” 😄🦷🐴

Today it was time for routine dental checks for two of our lovely ponies, Cisco and JCB.

Did you know that ponies’ teeth keep growing their whole lives (just like rabbits!)? Because of this, they sometimes get sharp edges that need to be gently rasped (filed) down so they can chew their food comfortably and stay happy and healthy.

Our brilliant vets came out to give them their check-ups. They’re always so knowledgeable, kind, and patient with our ponies – and the ponies were super stars today! ⭐

Fun pony facts for little animal lovers:
🐴 Ponies have 24 baby teeth and up to 44 adult teeth when fully grown!
🌾 Horses and ponies chew side to side, which helps grind grass and hay.
🦷 Regular dental checks help ponies eat better, feel better, and avoid sore mouths.

Cisco and JCB are now all sorted and ready to get back to doing what ponies do best — eating hay and enjoying cuddles! 💚

Naked time in the sun is good for their coats, their skin and their mental health. Imagine wearing your coat 24/7 through the colder months.. they can’t wait to groom each other and roll. It makes us happy to watch ❤️❤️❤️

Mutual grooming with our smallest herd member.. Nanny Plum. The kindest friendliest little soul. Only five years old she ran wild on the new forest the first few years of her life until she came to live with us and learnt about being a family pony ❤️❤️❤️
