September has arrived , and the cooler weather isn’t far behind. 🍂🎣
Did you know that fish have photoreceptors that can detect changes in daylight, so with the shorter days fish will be eating more to store up for the winter. It’s a perfect time to get out on the water.
Think about using
1. Dark & Bold Patterns: As light levels drop earlier, use larger black flies, sedges, or dark spinners to create a strong silhouette in the water
2. Target the Shallows: Trout are moving closer to the margins and river mouths—don't wade straight through the best water before making a few short casts!
3. Layer Up: Highland weather is doing its classic autumn shift. Windproof layers and mid-weight gloves are officially back on!
