Christine Douglas is the Founder and Director of Core Control Pilates and the heart behind New Body Barn ๐
After discovering Pilates and experiencing first hand how it helped relieve long-term pain, she trained as an instructor in 2002 and has continued to build on her knowledge through many courses and workshops over the years.
She has extensive training in both matwork and Reformer Pilates (qualifying with distinction), along with additional studio equipment - bringing a high level of expertise to every class.
Known for her compassionate teaching style and attention to detail, Christine is passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and become pain free. She is also a Supervising Teacher, supporting the next generation of Pilates instructors.
Christine's particular interest is in hypermobility for which she has attended specific training which is kept up to date with continuing research. She has also recently attended workshops on chronic syndromes such as ME, PoTS, Long-COVID and hEDS
She loves the outdoors and also some high adrenaline challenges such as attempting high trapeze this year for her 60th! The rest of her time is mainly taken up with family and her Hungarian street dog, Billy, who has needed a huge amount of patience to gain trust and confidence - an ongoing project!
Alongside Pilates, Christine is also a Nordic Walking Instructor, combining movement, fresh air and overall wellbeing.
