Our recent Cupar Training week featured a local coach, who returned to the very football pitch where his grassroots playing days began.. ⚽️
Austin MacPhee, founder of AM Soccer, is enjoying a fine spell in the English Premier League, and he kindly dropped in for a couple of days to observe the next generation of local talent. Austin took the opportunity to chat to the kids about where his journey started and the work he has since done to shape his career.
From proudly pulling on the Cupar YMCA jersey, to coaching Portugal at a World Cup Finals Tournament, there was a lot to talk about. ✨
The questions were excellent and we heard about..
• How good CR7 actually is 👏🏼
• Was the game different when you played in the olden days? ☺️
• Bernardo Silva proving how amazing smaller players are, among so many impressive athletes.
• Developing confidence with Marcus Rashford around scoring from and delivering set plays.
• The things you need to do to be able to work your way through the levels of the game.
Our hope is that this visit will in some small way, inspire our youngsters towards an exciting journey of their own in football. We can safely say that the pitch was packed full of skill and enthusiasm again this week!
