We're thrilled to announce we are once again supporting children who receive a free school meal in the Bracknell Forest area by operating The Den throughout summer.

Whether your child enjoys sports, boardgames, arts and crafts, or bushcraft sessions, there's always something at The Den to keep them entertained.

The Den offers a wonderful mix of child-led and structured play led by a team of friendly and caring professionals.

Supported by our partner cafe Two Sisters in Crowthorne, eligible children can enjoy a healthy and nutritious packed lunch that includes:

- a sandwich (choice of filling and bread options)
- popcorn
- fruity flapjack
- piece of fruit

Plus, we have an endless supply of fruit and vegetables for your child to snack on.

☀️🌿 Another amazing — and final — day of Easter at The Den 🌿☀️

What a way to finish an incredible holiday club.

Today the children enjoyed:
⚽ Football
🎾 Tennis
🍦 Ice cream crafts
💧 Water play in the sunshine
🧪 Fun science experiments
🔥 Toasting marshmallows around the campfire

But more than anything, they spent the day:
😊 Playing games
🤝 Making friendships
🌱 Building confidence
💚 And simply being amazing children

Over the past two weeks we’ve watched children laugh, explore, create, care for one another, and make memories that we hope stay with them long after the holidays finish.

That’s what The Den is really about.

A huge thank you to all of our families for your continued support — and to the children for bringing so much energy, kindness, and joy every single day.

☀️🌿 Another brilliant hot day at The Den! 🌿☀️

We’ve been making the most of the sunshine while keeping cool in the shade of the trees 🌳💚

Today’s adventures included:
💧 Water games and splash fun
🐦 Caring for injured birds like a group of mini David Attenboroughs
🔥 Campfire time with delicious toasted s’mores
😊 Outdoor play, teamwork, laughter, and lots of happy faces

One of the best things about The Den is watching children slow down, explore nature, care for the world around them, and enjoy simple outdoor experiences together.

From wildlife rescue moments to campfire treats, today was packed with memories the children will be talking about for a long time ☀️🌿🔥

☀️🌳 SCORCHING HOT DAY AT THE DEN! 🌳☀️

Today was all about staying cool, active, and having fun in the shade of the trees.

The children enjoyed:
💧 Water challenges and games
🦶 Retrieving marbles from water using only their toes (!)
🌳 Picnic lunch under the trees
⚽ Football on the shaded pitch
😊 Lots of laughter, teamwork, and outdoor fun

We’ve made the most of the sunshine while making sure children had regular drinks, shaded activities, and plenty of opportunities to cool down throughout the day.

Days like this are what The Den is all about — happy children, fresh air, friendships, and unforgettable holiday memories ☀️💚

☀️🌡️ HOT WEATHER REMINDER FOR THE DEN 🌡️☀️

With very warm weather forecast over the coming days, we kindly ask that all children arrive prepared for lots of outdoor fun in the sunshine 🌿💦

Please make sure your child brings:

🧴 Sun cream (applied before arrival if possible)
🧢 A hat or cap
🥪 A nut-free packed lunch and snacks
💧 A refillable water bottle
👕 A full change of clothes

We may cool down with some fun water play and water hoses during the day, so spare clothes are strongly recommended 😊

Our team will also encourage regular water breaks and plenty of shaded rest time to help everyone stay safe and comfortable in the heat.

🌿🔥 Another Fantastic Day at The Den! 🔥🌿

We enjoyed another brilliant day of fun and adventure at The Den today, with the children once again showing fantastic enthusiasm and teamwork throughout! 👏

Our Bushcraft activities continued, where children:
🔥 Practised fire lighting skills
🔥 Built confidence around safe fire management
😋 Enjoyed toasting giant marshmallows — always a favourite!

After how popular Thursday's Easter Egg Hunt was… we decided to do another one today! 🐣🥚

Safe to say, the children were very excited and loved searching for hidden surprises around our outdoor space.

We also enjoyed plenty of:
⚽ Football fun
🌈 Parachute games
🌳 Outdoor play
🤝 Team games and challenges

It’s been fantastic to see children active, outdoors, building friendships and trying new experiences — exactly what The Den is all about.

🔥🌿 Bushcraft Day at The Den 🌿🔥

What an amazing Bushcraft Day we had today at The Den! The children fully embraced the outdoor adventure and showed fantastic focus, responsibility and teamwork throughout. 👏

Today we learned all about:
🔥 Fire Safety — understanding how to stay safe around fires
🔺 The Fire Triangle — heat, fuel and oxygen
🪵 Fire Lighting Skills — successfully lighting cotton wool balls
🔥 Building confidence around safe fire management

And of course… the highlight for many…
😋 Toasting and tasting GIANT marshmallows around the fire!

It was brilliant to see the children learning real bushcraft skills, building confidence, and enjoying time outdoors together. There were lots of smiles, proud moments, and great teamwork throughout the session.

Experiences like this help children develop:
🌲 Confidence
🌲 Independence
🌲 Teamwork
🌲 Outdoor learning skills

A huge well done to all the children — you were fantastic today!
