I donโt want you to become really good at following instructions without understanding what youโre doing.
I want you to know what youโre trying to feel, why weโre doing something, and what changes when it doesnโt feel right.
So there are a few things I really want you to tell me in class:
If something Iโve said hasnโt made sense, thatโs on me. Itโs my job to find another way to explain it.
Useful information. It doesnโt mean youโre doing it wrong.
Also useful. We may need a little more detail, but itโs a perfectly good place to start.
Tell me. Whatโs changed can be more useful than whether something simply feels hard.
Fine. We can change the setup, spring, range, cue or exercise. Iโm not emotionally attached to any of them.
Please ask. You deserve to know what weโre actually trying to achieve.
And if you need a break, take one. You donโt need to prove anything to me.
I can see a lot from the outside. I canโt feel what youโre feeling from the inside.
