Some clients inspire you far beyond the gym floor. ✨

Dawn is one of them. ❤️

Dawn lives with Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR) — an inflammatory autoimmune condition that causes severe pain, stiffness, swollen joints, exhaustion, and hugely restricted movement.

For someone who loves swimming 🏊‍♀️ cycling 🚴‍♀️ running 🏃‍♀️ triathlons and adventure… it could have easily stopped her in her tracks.

But Dawn decided PMR was not going to define her life. 💥

Since starting training with me, we’ve worked on strength, mobility, flexibility and conditioning — always adapting around what her body was experiencing on any given day.

And no matter what…
✨ Dawn showed up.
✨ Dawn did the work.
✨ Dawn never gave in. 💪

There have been dark days.
Days where movement felt incredibly difficult.
Days with pain, frustration, fatigue and low energy.

But her consistency has been unbelievable. 🙌

Honestly… an A* student from day one. ⭐

Fast forward to now…

🔥 Deadlifting her own bodyweight
🔥 Cycling 30+ miles happily 🚴‍♀️
🔥 Walking the Gritstone Trail 🥾
🔥 White water rafting 🌊
🔥 Smashing swim sprints 🏊‍♀️
🔥 Pull-ups in the gym
🔥 Seeing her 6-pack for the FIRST time at 60!! 😮💪

And yes… she has just turned 60 (you genuinely would never know!) 🎉

This is what strength training can do.

Not just physically — but mentally and emotionally too ❤️

And this message from Dawn honestly stopped me in my tracks:

“I feel the BEST I've felt in ages. I'm taking it and celebrating it, and thanking you.” ❤️

Gosh… I had a little overwhelmed cry of joy reading that. I’m not going to lie 🥹

Is PMR still a battle? Hell yes.
Does she still have difficult days? Absolutely.
Does she stop? Hell no. (only when I remind her recovery matters too 😂)

Consistency
Patience
Resilience
Humour
Heart ❤️

Dawn has it all.

I could not be prouder of what she has achieved and continues to achieve every single week. 🙌❤️

Your hobbies deserve a body that can keep up with them. 🚴‍♂️🥾🧗‍♀️

Whether you love cycling, hiking, climbing, long walks, golf, running, or just staying active with family and friends — strength training helps you enjoy it all more.

Not because you need to “live in the gym”…
Because you deserve a body that feels strong, capable, and reliable. 💪

Strength training can help you:
✅ Improve stamina and power
✅ Reduce aches and recurring injuries
✅ Build stronger joints and muscles
✅ Improve balance and coordination
✅ Recover faster after activity
✅ Feel more confident moving your body

Cyclists notice stronger climbs and less back pain. 🚴
Walkers and hikers feel more stable and less fatigued. 🥾
Climbers build better control, grip, and body tension. 🧗‍♂️

The goal isn’t bodybuilding.

The goal is helping you keep doing the things you love for years to come. 🙌

You do not need 6 days a week in the gym.
Just a smart, structured plan that supports your lifestyle instead of taking over it.

If you want to:
✔️ Move better
✔️ Feel stronger
✔️ Stay active long-term
✔️ Support your hobbies with the right training

…this is exactly what coaching is designed to help with.

Train for life outside the gym. 🌍💥

Congleton & surrounding areas

Are you a middle-aged woman who wants to feel stronger, more confident, and energised — but big gyms feel intimidating or you’re not sure where to start?

I work with women just like you in my small, private home gym — no crowds, no judgement, and no pressure to “fit in.” Many of the women I support are going through menopause, feel unsure in gym spaces, or are fed up with confusing fitness advice that doesn’t suit this stage of life.

I’ve been a health and wellbeing coach for 17 years, and I focus on the whole person — physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing — not just exercise. Sessions are safe, supportive, and done at your pace, with the aim of helping you feel strong, steady, and proud of your body again.

👉 I’m currently offering a free, no-pressure chat for women in Congleton and the surrounding areas who are curious about strength training but don’t know where to begin.

If this sounds like you
- Comment STRONG
- or send me a DM

and we’ll have a relaxed chat to see if it feels like a good fit.

You don’t need confidence to start — just the willingness to try

This is exactly why you should enter my competition for a FREE month of Personal Training!

Over the past 24 months, Ali has made absolutely incredible progress here at APT Personal Training.

I was looking back at some of her sessions recently and couldn’t help but smile with pride.

From back surgery…....to cycling Alp D’Huez, completing Coast to Coast twice, doing unassisted pull-ups, and returning to her love of climbing — Ali has truly transformed!

And now? Her next goal is to deadlift her own bodyweight 💥

When we first met, Ali was frustrated — her weak back, lack of strength, and limited mobility were holding her back from the activities she loved. But she was determined to make a change.

Here’s what she’s learned along the way 👇

✅ Building strength from the core outwards is key
✅ Rest is just as important as training for progress
✅ Learning good technique prevents injury and speeds results
✅ A tailored plan (gym or home) makes training efficient and effective
✅ Nutrition supports not just the body — but the mind and soul

Was it hard work? ABSOLUTELY!
But just look at her now, 24 months later. What a transformation!
Massive congratulations, Ali! 🎉

There’s so much more to learn on your fitness journey — but you don’t have to do it alone.

Why guess your way through training when you can learn from someone who’s been there and can show you the safest, fastest way to succeed?

October is ADHD Month
Gym Training Tips 💥💪

Did you know exercise can help manage ADHD by boosting focus, mood, and energy? Here are some simple tips to make your gym sessions ADHD-friendly and super effective:

1️⃣ Keep workouts short & varied: Aim for 20-30 minute sessions mixing different exercises to stay engaged and avoid boredom.

2️⃣ Use timers & playlists: Track sets with a timer and pump yourself up with a motivating playlist to stay on track.

3️⃣ Focus on compound movements: Exercises like squats and push-ups work multiple muscles, making your workout efficient and exciting.

4️⃣ Plan ahead: Write down your workout or use an app to reduce decision fatigue and stay organized.

5️⃣ Be flexible: Listen to your body — some days might call for lighter workouts or active recovery, and that’s totally okay!

Remember, consistency beats perfection! Use these tips to turn your workouts into a powerful tool for managing ADHD and crushing your fitness goals.
