Bann Rowing Club is one of the oldest and most successful rowing clubs in the whole of Ireland. www.bannrowingclub.org.uk

Based on the east bank of the River Bann near the town centre of Coleraine, the club has a very active membership, together with an extensive fleet of boats to cater for all kinds of competitive and recreational rowing. Bann Rowing Club welcomes anyone with an interest in rowing and who wishes to train or become a member. The club has produced three of Coleraine's olympic heros. Alan Campbell, and brothers Richard and Peter Chambers are all currently members of Great Britain's senior rowing squad. At the London 2012 Olympic games they produced a Bronze and two Silver medals for Great Britain. Alan Campbell took bronze in the Men's single scull, while the Chambers brothers took silver in the men's lightweight coxless four.

It was a familiar trip down to Belfast today to take part in BRC's Head of the River. Luckily we had perfect conditions on the Lagan which allowed our junior rowers to showcase all the hard work they have been doing over the past number of weeks. Although there were reduced entries compared to some previous races, Bann athletes gave it their all with a fantastic win for the WJ 15 2X in a competitive field being the highlight of the day.
Thank-you to all the coaches and parents who came down to support us. We also are very grateful to Autozone Coleraine for their continued support with a towing vehicle.

Some photos from today's Bann HOR. Thank-you to everyone who came to row with us. We really appreciate the support and it is fantastic seeing so many boats on the river. Congratulations to everyone who took home a penant, it was well deserved.
A massive thanks to all the coastal clubs who came to race, we really enjoyed having you take part in the race.
Hopefully there will be more photos, videos and drone footage to come.

We are looking forward to some half decent weather this Saturday which will hopefully make for some great racing conditions.
On the day we will have tea, coffee, tray bakes, burgers and soup available at the club house.

Bann hosted our Annual Awards dinner last night at Harry's Shack, Portstewart. It was a chance to relax, catch up and acknowledge the fantastic achievements of our squads over the past season. Well done to everyone who received recognition, your hard work and diligence proved itself over the year.
