Sumo deadlifts are a great variation to really target the lower glutes. They also bring the Adductors (inner thighs) into play. Therefore a great exercise ahead of bikini season.

The wider stance and more upright torso engages muscles differently than more conventional deadlift. It’s another powerhouse exercise with benefits that carry over into everyday life. 🔥

It sounds simple, but it’s a powerful reminder that progress requires action. If we keep doing the same things, following the same habits, and staying within our comfort zone, we can expect the same results.

Time Under Tension ⏱️ One of the most important parts of strength training… and one of the most overlooked.

Time Under Tension (TUT) is exactly what it sounds like, the amount of time your muscles are working during a set.

So instead of rushing through reps, you slow things down and keep the muscle under control for longer.

Why does that matter?

Because muscle doesn’t respond to speed. It responds to tension. 🔥

Slowing down your reps can help:
✔️ Increase muscle growth
✔️ Improve strength and control
✔️ Build better technique
✔️ Create more stability around joints
✔️ Make lighter weights more effective

This is why at LOKfit we focus on controlled movement not throwing weights around for the sake of it and letting gravity and momentum do the work for you.

The lowering phase matters.
The pause matters.
The control matters.

Anyone can move a weight from A to B.
