Sundays just don’t feel the same without footy…

Our last match report of the season... A very delayed one, as Admin have only just finished their league title celebrations. Paul Gascoigne would be proud.

⚽️ Dronfield Oak 2-4 Tupton FC ⚽️

Our league championship victory was confirmed before kick off, due to All Inn fore fitting their game against Dronfield Oak. With that being said it was time to draw names out of a hat 🎩

Jake Brock in net, A backline consisting of Jay Cutts, Ben Meadley, James Stewart and Josh Burrow.

Midfield 3 - Matt Bower, Luke Rawson and Liam Hendley. Bower stayed upfront majority of the half. ‘Any chance of some help back here Bower’

Front 3 - Micky Mcaneny, Jack Stevens and Tyler Radcliffe. Modern day version of Messi, Suarez and Neymar.

Bench - Rob Holland, Cal Barker and Dan Howitt.

The match kicked off and Dronfield quickly took the lead, however we responded with two thunderbolts courtesy of Liam Hendley and Jay Cutts. Bower subbed himself off just before half time ‘ My legs don’t work’

Half time 1-2

Subs were made. Dutchy and Dan ended up front and it’s safe to say they’re better at the back. Bower was back on the pitch and in goal, Brock back in his favoured wing position.

Dronfield equalised quickly thanks to Ben Meadley scoring in his own net. Apparently Brock tried claiming the assist. It wasn’t long before we had the advantage again. Brock down the right wing, you know the drill by now… 2-3

Luke Rawson was having a barnstorming last game for Tupton and he nearly got on the score sheet with a 35 yard free kick that rattled the underside of the cross bar. Rawson didnt have long to wait for another bite of the cherry… Penalty awarded to Tupton, Up steps Rawson, Top corner, Bosh! 2-4.

Full time 2-4

Dick of the day - Ben Meadley - Own goal says enough.

Penalties…

Great game from both teams. Tupton really going at it in the second half..

Unfortunately Tupton FC come up short in the Chatsworth cup final.

Penalties are never a nice way to decide a game.

⚽️ TUPTON FC 4-2 SPARTANS ⚽️

Our last home game of the season!

It was a tense and nervy first quarter of the match, as there was lots at stake for both teams.

Spartans took the lead on the 20th minute mark. Spartans winger with a great finish that lobbed Micky Mcaneny…. While he was on his line. 0-1

Micky soon redeemed himself when he sent a long goal kick forward. Matt Bower hustled with the Spartans centre back, before breaking free and calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner. 1-1.

Half time 1-1.

Second half kicked off and Spartans regained the lead. A quick counter attack from them, after Cameron Butterworth missed an open net. 1-2.

Substitutions were made. James Stewart and Josh Burrow entered the fray.

Cal Barker decided to take matters in his own hands. A 60 yard through ball to the on rushing Jay Cutts, who lobbed the keeper with an exquisite header. 2-2.

The boys knew what was at stake, and it was time to level it up a gear and show why we’re top of the table…

Jay Cutts went from scorer to provider on the 70th minute mark. Some neat dribbling from Cutts, before laying the ball into the path of the returning Jack Stevens. 30 yards out, top bins, players and fans going wild!! Was that our goal of the season? 3-2.

Cal Barker got his second assist of the day on the stroke of full time. A corner whipped in to the front post, Jay Cutts on hand to slot the ball into the bottom corner. 4-2.

Full time 4-2.

⚽️ TUPTON 7-0 DRONFIELD OAK ⚽️

A statement victory from our boys!

The sun was shining, ultras were out in full force with their cans🍺

The game kicked off and we immediately put Dronfield on the back foot. Jay Jay Cutts teased the Dronfield right back before he was wiped out inside the penalty area. Up steps Matt Bower on penalty duties… Buried into the net. 1-0.

Cutts was as it again 5 minutes later, dancing past 2 desperate defenders, before delivering a peach of a cross for Jake Brock at the back post. Brock rose like a salmon, header dispatched into the bottom corner. 2-0. Uproar from the home supporters!

We bagged our third goal of the day 5 minutes before half time. Rob Holland climbed highest from a corner, but bower got in his way and pinched the goal to give him a first half double. 3-0.

Half time 3-0.

At half time our very own gazelle Liam Hendley said he fancied a goal, and he didn’t have long to wait..

A lovely one two with Jake Brock saw Hendley stride up the pitch before calmly slotting the ball into the net to give us a 4 goal cushion on the 50th minute. 4-0.

Our midfield 3 of Toby Birch, Hendley and Brock were dominating the midfield battle and it was their tenacious pressing that lead to our 5th goal of the day. The ball fell to Ben Meadley who was 35 yards out and he sent a looping shot over the Dronfield keeper. The ultras started chanting ‘That was definitely a cross’ Jake Brock said it was his assist… who knows? 5-0.

Josh Burrow was straight into action upon his introduction. Brock whipped the corner in, Burrow darted to the front post and headed the ball delicately past the keeper. 6-0.

Cutts was our final scorer of the day and rightly so. Terrorising the Dronfield right back yet again before rifling one past the keeper. 7-0.

Full time 7-0.

⚽️ TUPTON 3-1 TIBSHELF ⚽️

The home team arrived at furnace hill looking leggy as f**k, two days after a gruelling semi final victory. Deep heat was applied constantly.

The match kicked off and we struggled to get into a rhythm. Tibshelf took the lead 15 minutes in and this sparked us into life. We peppered the away goal keeper, but to no avail.

James ‘My poor hip’ Stewart sent a long throw in Rory Delap style and it was Jay Jay Cutts on hand to place a delicate header into the bottom corner and bag his debut goal for us. 1-1.

Shortly after Ben Meadley got on the score sheet to give us some breathing space just before half time.

Half time 2-1.

Tibshelf came firing out of the blocks in the second half and started to dominate the midfield battle. Luckily for us Micky ‘Ederson’ Mcaneny made a crucial save to keep us in front.

Jay Jay Cutts decided to take matters into his own hands down the left wing. Cutts danced past 3 desperate defenders before he got clattered inside the penalty box. Penalty awarded!

Up steps Jake Brock… He fired it straight at the keeper with one of the worst penalties you’ll ever see. Fortunately for Brock, the keeper parried it straight back to him, therefore he smashed the ball into the bottom corner. 3-1.

Full time 3-1.

MOM - Jay Jay Cutts

A quick word for the Tibshelf centre back who suffered an horrendous injury. Rupturing his achilles tendon with two minutes left to play. We wish him well with his surgery.

Chatsworth cup semi final result!

⚽️ TUPTON 4-1 GALAXY ⚽️

Tupton put on a clinic to defeat the favourites and advance to the finals!

Our management team arrived at Staveley and the whole squad was already there raring to go. That’s when you knew something special was brewing…

Our warm up consisted of shooting 150 balls at Micky.

The game kicked off and we were immediately on the front foot. Galaxy’s defence and midfield were struggling to cope with our intense pressure in the blistering heat, and soon after we found ourselves 1-0 up. Captain Max Minshull got a hold of the ball in the midfield before feeding the imperious Matt Bower who out muscled the Galaxy captain before delicately slotting the ball into the bottom corner to give us the lead. 1-0.

Bower bagged his double 15 minutes later. Micky ‘Ederson’ Mcaneny providing the assist with a beauty of a kick. Bower beat the desperate galaxy defence and offside trap before burying the ball into the bottom corner to give us a 2 goal cushion. 2-0. Ultras were in full flow after that goal, there was no let up.

Liam Hendley decided to release Jimmy Keenan from his pocket for a few minutes before releasing Jake Brock down the left hand side. Brock danced past a couple of tired Galaxy defenders before rifling a shot into the roof of the net! Are you Luis Diaz in disguise?!! 3-0. Galaxy looked shell shocked!

Half time 3-0.

Galaxy came firing out the blocks in the second half playing some decent football, however our brick wall of a defence repelled every attack.

We soon put the game to bed… Brock danced past the Galaxy right back before feeding Ben Meadley, who twisted and turned inside the box before lashing a shot into the back of the net to make it 4-0. Galaxy right back had to come off, he started throwing up on the sidelines. Was it nightmares, was it a wh**ey? Who knows? 🤮

Cameron Butterworth wanted to impress his lady on the sidelines with a goal, and that’s exactly what he did! The only problem was…. it was in our net!!

Full time 4-1.

What a game! What an upset!
