MATCH UPDATE!!!

A quicker update than usual.
With the games called off this weekend it’s given us time to catch up on some recent results.

Special Mention goes out to Charlie Mitchell who played his first game for the club in 11 months after some major health complications. Fantastic to see him back on the field with our reserve squad and an unbelievable way to come back, bagging 4 goals in the process.

The first team lads had another game of missed opportunities, complete domination in the first half, the game should have been out of sight. Instead we left John Pye interested and the second half belonged to them, another shocking second half performance by the tap lads completely allowed them back into the game. Despite this it looked like we dug in and found a way to win with 4 minutes to go, only to have nearly 10 minutes of extra time come out of nowhere and a penalty for handball given when a flicked on header hit our lads arm from point blank range.
The penalty converted to even out the scores, a fair result overall just a shame in the way the points were dropped. The game then finished on a sour note when one of the John Pie lads claimed to have slipped whilst somehow managing to jump and land both sets of studs on Jay Marples shins with his leg fully planted. Jamie lucky to walk away from the challenge.
What proceeded on from this was quite frankly a joke, a red card for a push to the back by Charlie Clayton and another Red Card for captain Rhys Mansell for holding two John Pye lads by the scruff of there shirts to stop them trying to get to Charlie

A fair result overall with a fierce and well fought battle up to the end of the game. The incident unfortunately ruining the day for both teams.

Thank you as always to our sponsors for the season and our apologies for the lateness of the short handed write ups. The Tupton Tap, Knights Renovations, LAS Autobahn Motors LTD, Ashover Brew Co, www.candcsweets.com

First game up, TIBSHELF COMMUNITY FC RESERVES VS TUPTON TAP FC RESERVES

In short, the Tap lads got battered 6-1 giving away a plethora of cheap goals!!

Things weren’t made easier with our keeper breaking his collar bone in the first half (We wish Iestyn a speedy recovery)👊🏽
Big shout out to ST Joe Palmer for volunteering to go in the sticks after pulling his hamstring, how the muscliest man in the world pulls a muscle we don’t know 😂
Josh Dale grabbed another goal for the season after some great work from George (Snoop Dog) Maude.

Tap Ressies are in a bad run of form at the moment but we will get through it and the lads are working hard in training to stick together and put things right.
Well done to Tibshelf for playing a good game and being clinical in front of goal. Good luck for the season lads!!

SPARTANS FC RESERVES VS TUPTON TAP FC RESERVES
Sunday 26th October 2025

The Tap lads were looking to bounce back on Sunday after a shocking run of form!!

Tap couldn’t have got off to a better start when young Kyron Ball hit a ‘YOU BEAUTY!!!’ From 30+ yards out, which buried itself into the top bins.
Spartans came back well though, the initial stages turning into a fairly even game and responded to pull themselves back in front when a looping free kick managed to lob taps keeper who with a nickname of Macca ‘The Bear’ Pearson due to his 7ft frame didn’t do himself any favours 😂

A good game of football and great battling from both sides. Macca then redeemed himself by coming and punching clear a great ball in from Spartans that looked destined to land a Spartans player for an easy tap in.
After a good bit of play, tap got a second to pull back in front. George ‘Snoop Dog’ Maude joined in on the screamers, himself burying one into the top bins (The celebration a bit sus 🤔) but we will let him off on this occasion as the goal scored was a worldie.

Spartans not willing to give up then equalised again when tap gave away a corner cheaply and the Spartans very own Harry Maguire who won every header all game to be fair to him towered above everyone in the box and buried the ball.

Tap wanting to find breathing room once again began to drive up the pitch with purpose. A great fighting spirit that has been missing drastically in recent weeks.
The ginger assassin Reece ‘Burnt Peach’ Burroughs did some unselfish running which forced Spartans to pass back to the keeper and Josh Dale was alert, like a spaniel after a tennis ball 🎾 and nipped in, cut the pass out rounded the keeper and slotted it home to put the Tap lads back in front.

As is the way in Sunday league these days the refereeing then took centre stage. A soft penalty awarded to the Spartans lads and a red card awarded for… well we aren’t quite sure, the official ruling was checked and we couldn’t find where it states the accusation is a red card 😂
To add insult to the already poor penalty and the shocking decision to put us down to ten men, the Spartans penalty taker stepped up, slipped whilst taking his shot, kicked the ball with his right foot onto his left foot and looped it into the back of the net. Penalty retake you think? Oh no, Goal awarded 😂 The joys of clear Sunday league officiating shining through as always there.

Down to 10 men but the tap lads with new found spirit kept fighting, the game turned scrappy and up stepped that man again. Young Kyron Ball hit a disgusting outside the foot volley in to the top corner. (Some say lamb shank 😂🤷‍♂️) Putting Tap up by a goal with no time left on the stop watch.

FT _ SFCR 3 - 4 TTFCR

A well deserved win for the Tap lads after some poor form and results in recent weeks, let’s use this to kick on in the league up till Christmas now!!.
Well done to Spartans Reserves and good luck for the season lads.

Sunday 26th October 2025

After the manager worked away all last week its been a delayed write up so we have decided to join both games into one write up.

Firstly then, Tupton Tap FC vs Staveley Town FC.
The away team started quickly and missed a couple of good opportunities in the opening 15 minutes.
The lads finally managing to settle started to gain some control in the game and over the next half an hour played some good stuff, Staveley always trying to be dangerous pumping the ball up over the back line but struggling to make any real chances.
Just on the half time mark our 17 year old fullback made winger for the day Lewis Craven showed the Staveley front lads exactly how to “Settle shots on a bobbly pitch” as he fired a volley first time into the bottom left corner from a well worked set piece.

HT TTFC 1 - 0 STFC

Starting the second half and the lads started in a much better fashion than the first. Immediately creating chances. The young full back made winger seemed to be loving life in the new position as midfield maestro Dom Collins picked up the ball drove past 3/4 Staveley lads before slotting in young Lewis Craven who once again slotted home for his second of the game.
The second half continued with the lads being absolutely clinical in front of goal the pick of the goals in the second half a 45 / 50 yard lob from midfielder Dom Collins after the Staveley keepers poor clearance dropped to his feet and he decided to finish the game off in style.
Some credit to Staveley who had a couple of clear chances that were saved well by Tappy shot stopper Jim for a performance of the season second half.

MATCH UPDATE!!!

TUPTON TAP FC FIRSTS VS CRESWELL BARNETT FC
Sunday 26th October 2025

The lads started incredibly quickly, applying all the pressure in the first half. The ball bopping around quickly and the opposition unable to cope.
Chance after chance created with constant shouts from the opposition of “It’s to F****** easy lads”.
Just past 20 minutes played and the lads finally got the breakthrough when a penalty was awarded after a challenge in the box.
Trusty front man Lewis Spencer stepping up to bag his 4th penalty since joining the club. To calm under pressure, never looks like missing.
The lads kept piling the pressure on and the score would have been more if not for some fine keeping from the Creswell Barnett man in the sticks, making 4/5 fantastic stops and holds all from close range.
Just before half time, the inevitable happened, after so much domination in the half, Creswell Barnett grabbed a goal, a silly free kick given away and with their first shot on goal they scored directly from the free kick.

HT - TTFC 1 - 1 CBFC

Second half underway and the goal had clearly affected the lads. The tempo considerably reduced from the first half, Creswell began to crawl there way back into the game, finally getting some joy and applying some pressure to the Tupton Tap back line.
The second half went pretty much this way for 45 minutes with the tap lads never finding the form they had in the first half but defending strongly and not really seeing too many dangerous opportunities gifted to the opposition.
As time wound down and the lads putting their all into the last 5 minutes to try and get the winner on the counter, a free kick was awarded on the top right side of the pitch.
Will Heggarty whipping in his 50th incredible delivery of the half finding CB Tank Jude Jarvis who out wrestled his man the ball taking a deflection and looping up and over the keeper to find the back of the net and give the Tap lads the winning goal.

FT - TTFC 2 - 1 CBFC

A second great performance in two weeks from Ben last week at full back and this week leading the back line from CB. Fantastic since coming into the club and proving why he was a major signing for the club this season.
Smashing it mate keep it up!!👊🏽

Finally, special mentions today for all the midfield 3, Jamie Marples, Dom Collins and Charlie Clayton. All fantastic in the last 2 games since changing the structure of our midfield setup. Unreal from you lads, enjoy your week break you’ve earned it!!👊🏽

WEEKEND FIXTURES!!!

Both teams are back in second round action of the county cup this weekend.

The first team travel away to Holmebrook Valley Park to face division 3 opposition Espial FC.
A team that was formed from FC Duke they hold some good players across their squad and it will be a good test for the lads to not only see if they can progress into the next round of the county cup but also to measure up against one of the better teams in the division.

The reserves have a tough task on their hands to progress as they welcome Division 4 opposition to the home ground on Sunday. Tibshelf Community have had a rough start to their season and will be hoping to get a kick start from facing division 6 opposition.
The lads however are fired up for the contest and dont plan on an exhibition match. They want to continue in the competition and we wish them all the best in what will be a tough game on Sunday.

As always any support you can provide to either team this weekend would be fantastic and we always appreciate seeing people down on the sideline supporting.

MATCH RESULT!!!

TUPTON TAP FC FIRSTS VS CLAYCROSS TOWN SUNDAYS FC
Sunday 05th October 2025

This week the lads took on a good Clay cross side at home. The day started off poorly when multiple key members of the squad let us down, leaving the lads with a brassic bare 11 to try and get the win and take the 3 points.

As you can imagine the game that followed was scrappy, hard fought and lacked any real quality, however the lads dug deep, covered the distances and buried the chances when they came.
A difficult game under pressure but the lads showed some great spirit after last weeks disappointing result.

We look forward to being back in the county cup next weekend and continuing to try and get back to winning ways.

Jamie’s second MOTM award of the season and another outstanding performance from the big lad.
His mid-week training session performance should have given us the heads up for the performance he was about to put in today.
Again covered every blade of grass, making big challenges and winning everything in the air, he finished two fantastic chances (Not even chances with the first at 35+ yards and the second near the half way line) and put the lads on his back in some rough moments of the game.
Well done mate and may this run of form continue.

MATCH RESULT!!!

TUPTON TAP FC RESERVES VS BRIMINGTON THREE HORSE SHOES FC
Sunday 28th September

A bad day all round for the club has the Reserve squad also suffered their first defeat of the season.

Tap lads started well and went 1-0 up inside 20 minutes after a good cross from Sach found the ginger assassin Reece Burroughs for another goal. That’s a goal involvement every game of the season so far for Reece who’s started the campaign well.

Brimington waking up managed to pull one back to even the score and then quickly found themselves a goal up after the striker with an outside of the foot finish put one straight into the top bins and left the tappy keeper rooted to the ground.
Not to let the first half run away from them the Tap’s new signing star striker Joe Palmer nearly got his season tally off the mark twice once hitting the woodwork from a free kick and the second time hitting a sweet strike on the crossbar and just over.

Out of nowhere Brimington bagged two quick fire goals just before half time, completely stunning the tap lads. The feeling of going into the half 4-1 down wasn’t helped when reflecting on the fact the Brim striker was lucky to still be on the pitch after German suplexing one of the Tap lads.

HT / TTFCR 1 - 4 BTHSFC

Second half and the game turned scrappy Joe Palmer deciding instead of scoring a hat-trick today he was just going to hit a hat-trick of woodworks as another strike bounced off of the post, the rust showing a little but massive positives for the next few weeks.
The lads continued to push on and tried to get themselves back in the game. A little hope was given after some good football in the middle was finished off by a lovely pass from George (Snoop Dog) Maude put Josh Dale through for the young striker to grab another goal for the season!!

However it wasn’t to be two mistakes from allowing the ball to bounce in dangerous areas allowed Brimington to grab two more goals and leave the final score at:

FT / TTFCR 2 - 6 BTHSFC

Well done to Brimington who deserves the win, good luck for the rest of the season.
Well done to Woody our former player however Wynny would like us to note that you got nowhere near him today in the middle of the park 😂😜🤷‍♂️

MATCH RESULT!!!

TUPTON TAP FC FIRSTS VS KILLAMARSH JUNIORS FC
Sunday 28th September

The run of wins has been stopped.
In one of the weirdest games we have ever watched yesterday, a complete game of two half’s.

The first half the lads came out a bit slow and Killamarsh grabbed the opening goal in the first 5 minutes. This kicked the lads into life and after a 27 minutes hat-trick from star CM Matty Proud and Lewis Spencer getting his first goal of the season we found ourselves 4-1 up heading into the 40 minutes mark. Multiple more chances as the lads piled on the pressure went missing with the scoreline still at 4-1 but quite easily could have been 6,7,8 to the Tap.
With all the pressure piled onto Killamarsh a long ball found their rapid striker just on the half time mark and after a good bit of play Killamarsh found there selves only 4-2 down at the half time mark, they were as confused as we were as to how the game wasn’t buried.

HT / KJFC 2 - 4 TTFC

The second half kicked off and well… the lads never woke up again. Killamarsh had all the ball and all of the opportunities. The game wasn’t pulled back to KJFC 4 - 4 TTFC on the 6o minute mark.
The lads had a good 5 minute spell where Matty Proud bagged his 4th goal of the day but it’s wasn’t enough as Killamarsh bagged 2 goals late on with the winner being in the final few minutes.
Shocking second half performance from the tap lads.

FT / KJFC 6 - 5 TTFC

Summary - First half to remember with loads of positives being virtually unplayable at times. Second half plenty to learn from, the lads have already discussed this and will rectify in training on Wednesday.

MATCH DAY!!!

The firsts travel away to Killamarsh Juniors FC in what will be a tough game for the lads as we continue to build and settle into the new season.
We wish the firsts all the best for the game today.

Our reserves are at home against Brimington Three Horse Shoes in what promises to be an exciting game. A lot of the lads know each other so there should be some good banter flying back and forth between the two teams.
We wish the reserves all the best for their game, if you are free this morning please get down and support the reserves as the look to continue their good start to the season.

WEEKEND FIXTURES!!!

Both teams are back in action this weekend after a cracking round of results in the county cup on Sunday.

The first team face new competition as they travel away to Killamarsh Juniors. A team which we haven’t come across before but looking at results from last year and the start of this season can cause problems for most teams if allowed to get a hold of the game.
The first lads will have to once again be on top form to continue their winning streak.

The reserves are welcoming Brimington Three Horse Shoes to the home ground in Stonebroom. Brimington have mixed results at the start of the season so the lads will be hoping to continue their great run of form seeing them unbeaten in their first 3 games of the new season.

We understand that the firsts are playing a good distance away this weekend but please get down to support the ressies if possible, all the support is greatly appreciated.
