A lovely afternoon on university grounds, celebrating a union of cultures and the theme launch for : Unity in Diversity.
The event successfully bridged systemic sectors—Education, Healthcare (the founder herself being a physician), Economics (with corporate representatives), Community Outreach () and Culture with representation from various South Asian organisations.
For me, this topic resonates deeply, especially during these challenging times when loneliness and burnout are at an all-time high. It serves as a vital reminder to promote social connection, which is the predictor of better health according to the longest study by Harvard.
This unity starts with each of us, by embracing our different identities and roles so we can be our full selves and being open to welcome others.
It was a delight to meet Dr. Binita Kane, founder of SAHM, to share my outreach work, dance with friends, and forge new connections.
Thank you to the organisers, volunteers, performers and everyone involved. Best wishes for the upcoming events.
I am currently raising funds for the British Heart Foundation as South Asians face a higher risk for heart-related health issues. For every donation, I am offering a one-hour coaching session. Support heart health by nurturing your own heart health. Link in the comments below.⏬
