Another cracking Tuesday Working Party 💪⛵️

The grass has been cut — Old Trafford standard, obviously 😂🌱
More clearing and tidying around the boat parks, plenty of jobs ticked off, and another absolutely superb lunch to keep everyone going. 👌

Meanwhile, the dogs had clearly decided they’d contributed enough and were more interested in chilling out and supervising proceedings 🐶😂

A huge thank you, as always, to everyone who gives up their Tuesday to keep Elton looking its best. You make such a difference every single week 💙

And seeing as it’s officially September… there was really only one soundtrack for this one 🎶🕺✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came down today! We know lots of you are away enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend, so it was lovely to still have such a good turnout. And a big thank you to our Social Committee for pulling together the impromptu BBQ 🍗👏

But now to the star of the show… Tim Cooper! 🏆⛵️

After plenty of trying, Tim has done it and taken the Late Summer Handicap Series win — a very well-deserved first series victory!

What. A. Summer! ☀️⛵️💙

We’ve been SO busy — sailing, laughing, learning, racing, BBQs, sunshine, not-so-much sunshine 😂 and just the best atmosphere down at the club.

There’s something pretty special about summer evenings and weekends spent on the water, and this year has been an absolute belter. 💙

Fancy spending your summers a little more like this? 👀⛵️

Our RYA Level 1 & 2 course is coming up next weekend — the perfect way to get started, build your confidence and get yourself out on the water.

Here’s to a brilliant summer at Elton Sailing Club… and we’re definitely not done yet! ☀️⛵️🥂

🌙✨ MOON FESTIVAL – FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER ✨🌙

Our Moon Festival is coming to Elton Sailing Club from 6pm on Friday 25 September.

If you’re wondering what the Moon Festival actually is, it’s a relaxed family evening by the reservoir with food, children’s activities, moon-themed fun and a few magical touches along the way. 🌙🧙‍♀️✨

We’ll have jacket potatoes with fillings, children’s hot dogs, fairy moon cakes, decorate-your-own fairy cakes, rock painting, moon water wishes and plenty more going on throughout the evening.

🎟 Tickets
Adults – £5
Children – £3
Family ticket – £15 (2 adults + 2 children)

Some activities will have a small additional charge.

🎟️ Raffle tickets are on sale now for £1 each, available from the bar or any member of the Social Committee, with the draw taking place at the Moon Festival

Bring a blanket or camping chair, wrap up warm and come and spend the evening by the water with us.

Members will be able to book through the club website very soon. If you’re not a member and would like to come, just send us a message and we’ll help you arrange your tickets. 🌙✨

Another productive day for our Tuesday Works Gang! 💪⛵
The sheds have had a spruce-up, work is continuing on the boat and the boat park has been strimmed and cut back . We’ve also improved the disabled parking bay to make it clearer—and much prettier! 🌸
Our paddleboards now have a brand-new storage facility too. As always, plenty achieved and finished off with a great catch-up and lunch together.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and got stuck in! 👏

Summer might be starting to wind down, but there’s still loads happening at Elton Sailing Club over the next few weeks! 💙

Autumn Pursuit Series continues – racing from 6.40pm

⛵️ Thursday 27th August
Junior & Social Sailing from 6pm

🍔 Friday 28th August – ROUND THE RES GRAND FINALE! 🎉
We’re delighted to be hosting the conclusion of the fabulous Round the Res summer adventure at Elton!

Join us from 3pm–6pm for their Grand Finale BBQ and help celebrate a brilliant summer of adventure, activities and family fun.
💚 Everyone is welcome – you don’t need to be a club member to come along!

🌊 Saturday 29th August
Social Sailing | 12pm–4pm

🏆 Sunday 30th August
Final day of the Late Summer Handicap Series, followed by the series prizegiving.

Well… the wind has officially done its own thing this weekend⛵️

Saturday’s Solo Open got off to a decent start, with a good turnout ready to race despite the less-than-ideal conditions, but frustratingly the wind had other ideas and the event had to be cut short.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to race, support, help on the water and assist ashore — it’s always appreciated and it was great to welcome so many visitors to Elton. 💙

And then came Sunday… when the wind disappeared altogether. Absolutely nothing. Evidence attached.

So Sunday sailing was cancelled and, instead, we made the most of a glorious afternoon in the sunshine at the club. ☀️

Not quite the weekend of sailing we had planned — but you can’t win them all when the weather’s in charge!

Here’s hoping someone finds the wind again before Wednesday… 👀⛵️

Don’t take our word for it… ⛵️💙

We asked our juniors what they love about Thursday nights at Elton Sailing Club — and, as you can see, they had plenty to say!

From learning new skills and building confidence, to making friends, getting out on the water and simply having a brilliant time, Thursday evenings are about so much more than just learning to sail.

And because this is very much an ESC production, the soundtrack had to stay in-house too… 🎶 turn the sound up for our very own club band, recorded live last night! 😍

We might be biased, but sailing, friends, fresh air, plenty of laughs and live music isn’t a bad combination.

So there you have it…
