It’s Match Day in the Northants Combination as the ‘A’ Team travel to Milton in the League Cup whilst at the Sett the ‘B’ Team welcome Brixworth All Saints.

Both games which are FREE to watch, kick off is at the earlier time of 2pm.

It was mixed news in the Northants Combination League as the ‘A’ Team registered a 1-0 home win against Moulton Reserves whilst the ‘B’ Team suffered a surprising defeat, going down 3-1 at Kettering Nomads Reserves.

Best of luck to the ‘A’ Team who travel to the Dog & Duck, Wellingborough on Wednesday night to take on Earls Barton United in the NTFA Gorrell Barnes Cup.

As per the previous round we will be the underdogs against higher league opposition, fingers crossed for another Cup upset by Marius’ side.

In the Northants Combination League the ‘A’ Team travelled to table toppers Wollaston Reserves and despite hitting the woodwork on numerous occasions we were forced to settle for a point following a goalless draw.

With the ’B’ Team inactive this weekend it’s down to the ’A’ Team to fly the flag in the Northants Combination.

We travel to top of the table Wollaston for what promises to be a cracker, kick off is at 2:30pm with all support welcome and appreciated.

Huge congratulations to the ‘A’ Team who caused a Cup upset last night as they held Premier Division side Blisworth to a goalless draw before triumphing 4-3 on penalties to progress to the next round of the NTFA Gorrell Barnes Cup.

Great start of the pre-season from the badgers 🦡 today with plenty of positives, having a few new faces as well.

Credit must go to Harpole’s players that gave us a difficult game today. They were young and they were all over the place, harassing us with an aggressive pressing and putting on display a nice football but we were, arguably, the better team, our triangles based on a long possession worked for a good period of the game and it was enjoyable to watch.

We were quite composed in front of goal taking in consideration the heat and that it was 1st game of the season, scoring 4 nice goals.

What I really want to praise and provide a shout out for today, was our shape, we’ve kept our shape for the majority of the game which didn’t allow them much space or having many options and it allowed us to make the game easier.
We had more than 10 players missing and it was only our first game coming back but it’s giving us, for sure, something to work on and it helps towards the morale of the lads.

The ‘A’ Team also got their pre-season campaign underway as they welcomed Harpole to the Sett.

It was an encouraging performance from the Badgers who played some good football to run out comfortable winners.
