Izar, just a baby at 3 years old, here for some groundwork. He’s a Welsh x Friesian. Effectively as close to an actual dragon as humanly possible. He’s already had such good regular handling. He’s been here a few days and we have cracked straight on to some lunging, walking over poles, meeting the yard dogs and the scary chickens.

Meadh - we all have our “type” and this lass is mine 😍 I’m a sucker for a thoroughbred. She’s an ex racer, and had a lovely foal last year. Now time to get her back under saddle and with a job. She’s been here a wee while settled well, and oozes *spice* 🤣 hence the lack of pic/video of her working. However we can tell with this one she’s going to be a very smart horse and quick to pick up new things.

DUKE 😍. This big boy is progressing. He’s afraid of life but we’re working on building trust, doing that means we put our horses in strange situations. Sometimes that triggers the “flight response” A couple weeks ago he would have absolutely had a meltdown if I had rolled a pole towards him never mind deliberately rolled it hard enough to tap his hoof.
Seems small but for this lad it’s HUGE. 💙 he’s such a kind lad.

The importance of having an equine sports and rehabilitation therapist -
1) Pain detection and prevention (prevention is always better than cure)
2) performance (even for a leisure horse / happy hacker)
3) injury rehabilitation- (helps recover tissues correctly, help prevent further or reoccurring injury)
4) supports the older horse - yes your older horse will almost certainly have arthritis and be stiff, this helps them HUGELY
5) tailored fitness program/exercises on the ground will be given to you from your equine specialist so you can work on strengthening and helping your horse remain supple at home between their visits.

*bonus points for clients that provide tea with 2 sugars and milk and first class banter*

He’s around 18h and an absolute unit of a shire. He’s an absolute scaredy cat (think of the cartoons that the elephant is terrified of the mouse)
