🌟 A SPECIAL MENTION FOR OUR NEW U12 SQUAD 🌟

Playing their very first game together as a team, our U12s produced some brilliant football against Welling FC.

The squad went into half-time leading 3–2 after displaying some fantastic link-up play, real determination and incredible saves from our goalkeepers.

Sadly, they narrowly missed out on taking a point during the final quarter - but there was so much within the performance for the players and coaches to be proud of.

For a brand-new team at the very beginning of its journey, this was an incredibly encouraging first performance and a fantastic foundation from which to build.

A MILESTONE MOMENT FOR OUR U13 GIRLS 💙🩶⚽️

This weekend, our U13 Girls secured a brilliant 2–1 victory over Pompey - but this result represents far more than one win.

Most of this group began their JPL journey last season, deliberately playing up an age group to challenge them and prepare them for the future. It wasn’t always easy, and fixtures against Pompey included some extremely difficult double-figure defeats.

The girls continued to turn up, learn, work and develop.

Now playing within their correct age group, with a full year of JPL experience behind them, they have demonstrated just how far they have come.

This is why we trust the process. Development doesn’t always show immediately—but with patience, resilience and belief, progress follows.

We are incredibly proud of every one of these players and their coaches. What a fantastic milestone for this brilliant group! 👏⚽️

⚽️ OUR JOURNEY STARTS HERE ⚽️

What an incredible opening weekend for Sussex RTC! ⚽️💙🩶

Across the club, our players stepped onto the pitch for the first fixtures of the 2026/27 season - some beginning their very first JPL journey and others returning for another exciting year of development.

There were brilliant performances, exciting team play, fantastic saves, hard-fought battles and plenty of lessons to take forward. Every team is at a different stage, but this weekend was simply our starting point.

At Sussex RTC, success is about far more than the final score. It is about development, courage, teamwork, resilience and having the confidence to keep learning and improving.

We are incredibly proud of every player who represented the RTC this weekend and grateful to our coaches, families and supporters who made it possible.

One weekend down — and an entire season of development ahead. The journey has only just begun! 💙⚽️🩶

For many of our players, today marks the very beginning of their JPL journey—an incredibly exciting first step filled with new experiences, challenges, friendships and opportunities to develop. 💙

Whether this is your first JPL season or your fifth, step onto that pitch with confidence, enjoy every moment and be proud to represent Sussex RTC.

It’s not magic it’s just the Sussex Way

If you’ve watched Spain and admired the way they play, what you’re seeing isn’t luck or individual brilliance alone. It’s the result of a philosophy that has been taught, trusted and repeated for years.

At Sussex RTC, that’s exactly what we believe in.

Every training session and every match is built around the same principles: playing with courage, controlling the ball, working as a team, creating angles, receiving on the turn, and moving the ball quickly with one and two-touch football.

We don’t chase short-term results. We build players.

🚨 **CLUB UPDATE – TRAINING CANCELLED**

Following the latest weather guidance and the **Red Extreme Heat Warning** remaining in force until **9:00pm today**, Sussex RTC has made the decision to **cancel all on-pitch training this evening**.

The safety and wellbeing of our players, families and coaching staff will always remain our highest priority.

⚽ Rather than cancelling completely, we will be hosting an **online Player Development Session** for our members this evening, allowing players to continue their development safely from the comfort of home.

We would also like to thank **Worth School**, who have supported this decision after confirming the cancellation of all outdoor activities on site today.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the pitch soon. 💙☀️
