The post many of you have been waiting for!

Our 6-9 Development Centre Superstar Ellis returned to the National Dwarf Games looking to build on his 2 Gold, a Silver and 3 Bronze medals last time out.

Once again Ellis showed how talented he is, smashing it and bringing home 3 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze 🏆

I'm sure you'll all join me in congratulating Ellis for a brilliant effort, well done 🎊🎉

Here he is after last year's event, 2 Gold, a Silver and 3 Bronze medals.

Sunday 6–9 Development Centre

The skills part of the session.

Our young players worked on pulling the ball out of their feet, changing direction, and creating space away from pressure. Lots of repetition, challenges, and smiles all round as confidence grew throughout the session. The simple Drag Back took centre stage.

Why the drag back is so important:

✔️ Helps players escape pressure in tight areas
✔️ Improves close control and ball mastery
✔️ Encourages composure instead of panic
✔️ Develops awareness of space and defenders
✔️ Builds confidence to stay on the ball

Great effort from all of our players, learning new skills and expressing themselves every week 👏

Another Top Wednesday night at our U10+ Development Centre 🔴⚫️

This week’s focus: Receiving to Play Forward ⚽️

Working in tight groups of 3 & 4, players were constantly engaged, challenged and competing. Creating the perfect environment for development.

Receiving high balls with control and intent
Using different surfaces to secure or play forward quickly
Receiving on the move to attack space
Playing through gates to encourage forward-thinking decisions

We finished by bringing it all together in competitive 3v3 & 4v3 games, with a winner stays on tournament across two pitches ensuring high intensity, quick transitions, and there was lots of quality on show

The benefits:
✔️ Improved first touch under pressure
✔️ Faster decision making in tight areas
✔️ Greater confidence receiving on the move
✔️ Encouraging positive, forward play
✔️ More game realistic understanding

Developing confident, brave players every session.

The final 2!

Daisy and Scarlett were the remaining finalists from our Wednesday night Small Group Session. They didn't get the result they wanted but they gave it their all.

As we mentioned in the last post, all these girls work hard every week to improve their skill sets to become better players as individuals and to help their team.

Well done girls 👏
