Rory Mangan ran 73km in a month to raise money for the Charity and support his firefighter dad Stu, who jumped out of a plane alongside several colleagues over the weekend.

And there we have it - it’s been a long time coming with the pandemic but the team have now completed the skydive. What an amazing, exhilarating experience with loads of money raised along the way.

We would like to thank each and everyone of you for your support and kind donations through this event.
Big thanks to all the children and staff at Wildern School for a fantastic amount raised and donated and finally a HUGE thank you to our sponsors Storage On Site and Purbani Botley who have been amazing.

So after multiple delays it’s now only a few days until the big jump!! UPDATE - after the past year we are really pleased to announce that a new date has been booked for the team to complete the charity skydive.

We are so glad to be back and we have a few events planned before now and September so please keep an eye out. Our charity curry night was a HUGE success with our sponsor Purbani Botley with so many people asking for another event. We will endeavour to have conversations with the team and see what covid restrictions allow.

Since finishing his challenge last Tuesday further sponsorship has continued to come in for Rory’s efforts and we are really pleased to announce that he has now raised OVER £1,000 for the fire fighters charity. 👏👏

So last night saw Rory run his final stint - a nice little 3km to get him over the finishing line at Botley fire station with a surprise line up clapping him all the way.

Rory set out on the 1st August to Run 50km over the month of August with a target of raising £100 for charity. Well he SMASHED both out of the park.

Rory ran a total of 73km and raised a massive £735.

Mummy, Daddy, family and friends and all the team at Botley are super proud of what you have achieved.

Penultimate run this evening for Rory with a 5.5km run bring his total to an awesome 70km.

Tomorrow will see Rory take on his final run.

Starting around 1820 The route will be from Hedge End down Hob lane, on to Lower Northam Road towards Maypole roundabout. 1830 Straight down Broad Oak, 1840 into the High Street Botley then up Wi******er Street to finish at Botley fire station 1840/1845.

Back from holiday and the running continues. Today Rory put another 7.5km on the count - that brings him to 64.5km for the month of August.

RORY HAS DONE IT 🙌🙌

Another distance PB with a tough 8km done on a hilly route.

That puts Rory at 57km now but he won’t be stopping, he plans to run for the rest of August and continue to raise as much money as he can.

DISTANCE PB FOR RORY

The end off week 3 and even a holiday won’t stop Rory.
Staying in the Costwolds we went for an explore (and got lost). Found the fire service collage so rightly so took the photo opportunity.

This run was Rory’s PB for distance with a massive 7km added to his total. What an effort 👍👍👍
