Don’t they know I squatted 290kg!!

I’ve had 3 knee surgeries ok! Jeez 😅

That season is nearly upon us again.

The pool.

The heat.

The all-inclusive.

And the conversations that come with being the person who actually shows up in shape.

If you know, you know.

Then they can’t believe how much I eat at the buffet. 😆

They say it’s too much whilst they’re standing there wearing a t shirt in 40 degree heat because they don’t want to take their top off.

Cos now you haven’t got your motor or your 3 piece to suit to hide behind 😅

Being harsh? Or just being honest? 🤷🏻‍♂️

The most undervalued and overlooked supplement!

Because your doctor keeps telling it’s fine

Most people walking around with levels of 30 think they’re fine. They’re not. The reference range is a survival threshold, not a performance standard. Optimal function starts at 60 ng/mL.

When vitamin D drops below 50, your CRP, TNF-alpha and IL-6.

The core inflammatory markers tied to every chronic disease start climbing.

Your serotonin production falls because vitamin D is a direct cofactor in how your brain synthesises it.

Your testosterone drops. Your immune cells, which all carry vitamin D receptors, stop responding properly.

The only way to know where you are is to test it.

Most people with gut issues are obsessed with what they’re eating.

Very few are asking whether their gut can actually move food through properly.

The migrating motor complex (MMC) is your small intestine’s clearance system. It works between meals, helping move residual food, bacteria and digestive secretions through the gut.

The problem?

Constant snacking, stress, poor sleep, low thyroid function, low stomach acid and poor bile flow can all impair this process.

This is why removing more foods isn’t always the answer.

Sometimes the solution is supporting the digestive process itself.

Leave proper gaps between meals. Stop snacking all day. Get your sleep sorted. Manage stress. Walk after meals.

Support stomach acid with strategies such as betaine HCl where appropriate.

Support bile flow with ox bile, bitter vegetables such as rocket, watercress and chicory, and adequate dietary fat.

Because if food isn’t being broken down properly and moved through efficiently, every meal becomes another opportunity for bloating, gas and digestive symptoms.

The goal isn’t to survive on an ever-shrinking list of foods.

The goal is to build a digestive system that can handle them.

Heaviest and most muscle James has ever had

From years of trying to break 74kg

Now 78kg and climbing!

How did we do it?

We reduced his training frequency

We focused on sleep and recovery

We plugged deficiencies of B vitamins,

We removed a large build up of oxidative stress

We brought his cortisol back in range

But the BIGGEST thing

We set a nutritional structure that was easy to follow

James is BUSY

He doesn’t have time to make a macro friendly protein recipe

Quick, convenient and high quality

Next step to reach a big milestone of 80kg

DHEA is a neurosteroid

It supports hippocampal neurogenesis,

counters cortisol’s memory-impairing effects,

reduces neuroinflammation,

and protects against excitotoxicity.

Its age-related decline is measurable — and measurable means addressable.

Supplementation is between 10mg - 50mg per day depending on the severity of decline and the goal of supplementation.

BUT complex and over simplified.

And hugely miss understood

So if you need help reading your hormones and actually doing something with the numbers

Poor Estrogen

Whether it’s too high

Or it’s too low

Or the balance to progesterone / testosterone is off

It’s always getting blamed for something

Truth is it’s not even oestrogen directly.

This post hopefully sheds some light.
