πββοΈπ Ode to Samβs 200th Parkrun ππββοΈ
This morning at Queens, there stood a man,
A legend known simply to us as Sam.
Two hundred parkruns! A remarkable feat,
Thatβs roughly a million kilometres on his feet.*
(*Not checked by our club statistician.)
While normal folk spend Saturdays in bed,
Sam hears a 9am start and thinks, βRace ahead!β
Heβs run through sunshine, frost and rain,
And occasionally questioned his life choices halfway round again.
As a coach heβs encouraged us all to improve,
Though some of his hill sessions should probably require approval.
For 200 parkruns heβs turned up with a grin,
Ready to run, chat, coach, and win.
His trainers are tired, his barcode is worn,
Yet every Saturday a parkrunner is reborn.
So raise a cheer and give a clap,
For the king of the Saturday morning lap!
Congratulations, Sam, youβve earned your fameβ
Though next week youβll still have to do exactly the same
