Multi-Ethnic Sports and Cultures NI (MSCNI) would like to sincerely thank the Belfast Telegraph for publishing an important opinion article by our Founder and CEO, Jahswill Emmanuel BEM, at a time when Northern Ireland needs calm, understanding and solidarity.

As communities continue to process recent events, it is vital that we reject division, misinformation and hatred, and instead focus on what unites us as people.

Jahswill Emmanuel BEM said:

⚽️🤝 MSCNI at the Big Sanctuary Information Fair 2026! 🤝⚽️

Multi-Ethnic Sports and Cultures Northern Ireland (MSCNI) is delighted to be one of the exhibitors at the Big Sanctuary Information Fair 2026, organised by Queen's University Belfast, Belfast City Council, and the Department for Communities.

📅 Tuesday 16 June 2026 | 5:00pm – 7:00pm
📅 Wednesday 17 June 2026 | 10:00am – 1:00pm
📍 2 Royal Avenue, Belfast
This free event is open to everyone, particularly people from migrant and minority ethnic communities, including those who have sought or are seeking asylum in Northern Ireland.

Come and visit the MSCNI stall to learn more about our:
⚽ Sports and wellbeing programmes
🎭 Cultural and community engagement activities
🤝 Integration and inclusion projects
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Youth, family and community support initiatives

MSCNI was honoured to be represented at the JLF Jaipur Literature Festival at Ulster University.

The festival provided a valuable platform for global thought leaders, academics, and writers to explore themes of history, identity, and intercultural understanding.

A key session attended was:

“Empire: Ireland, India and the Making of the Modern World”, featuring:

👉🏽William Dalrymple (The Anarchy, The Last Mughal)

👉🏽Nandini Das (Courting India)

👉🏽Jane Ohlmeyer (Making Empire)

This session, moderated by Christopher Kissane, offered critical insights into the historical relationships between Ireland and India and their continued relevance in today’s global context.

For MSCNI, engagement in events like JLF aligns with our mission to promote:

👬Anti-racism and inclusion

🪇Community cohesion through shared learning

Such platforms are essential in strengthening relationships across communities and supporting informed, inclusive societies.
