Junior Championship Returns This Saturday - First Since 2018!
This Saturday (19/09/26) marks a very special occasion for our club as we host our first Junior Championship since 2018.

We are delighted to see such fantastic support for junior golf, with:

16 juniors competing over 18 holes for the title of Junior Champion - starting at 1300
8 juniors playing a 9-hole competition from our Academy Tees - starting at 1500
3 of our youngest golfers enjoying a fun competition on the Small Course at the Range - starting at 1500

We would like to wish all of our juniors the very best of luck and thank their families, coaches, volunteers, and club members for their continued support of junior golf.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Junior Fund Raffle

A raffle will also be taking place on the day, with tickets available from 12:00 noon.

All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the Junior Fund, helping us continue to develop and support the next generation of golfers at the club.

We encourage all members to come along, support our juniors, and help make this a memorable day for everyone involved.

Good luck to all competitors, and we look forward to crowning our first Junior Champion in eight years!

Another great run for the girls representing St Athan Golf Club over the summer holidays! ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธโ›ณ๏ธ

๐Ÿ† Welsh Minimasters โ€“ Creigiau GC: Both girls took the win in their categories, with Nell doing the double! Both now through to the finals at Royal St Davidโ€™s in early October.

๐Ÿ† Southerndown Open: Indi took lowest gross AND net. Nell had lowest gross against 4 boys, finishing just 1 point off lowest net, plus another eagle ๐Ÿฆ… and a couple of birdies from the academy tees.

๐Ÿ† Llantrisant & Pontyclun Junior Open: Nell took lowest gross and best modified Stableford with 61 points, plus her lowest 9-hole score of 38 from the academy tees. Indi played the full 18 and carded another sub-100 competition round from the reds.

๐Ÿ† Cardiff GC Junior Open: Both girls now competing in the 18-hole category. Nell, off 33 in the mixed 13โ€“36 handicap category, played her first ever 18-hole competition at just 10 years old! A tough course and blistering heat had her exhausted by 15, but she battled through to finish 24th and Indi 34th out of 46 in Stableford โ€” just 4 girls against 42 boys! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’ช

Next upโ€ฆ Nellโ€™s Welsh PING Tour Finals and both girls in the Welsh Minimasters Finals at Royal St Davidโ€™s in October.

An Update to Our Menu Prices

Hello everyone,

I just want to let everyone know that there will be a few changes to our menu and menu prices in the coming days.

The goal since starting my role has been to offer every member a quality and varied menu whilst also offering value. However, like many businesses, we continue to face an ever-changing economic climate, with the cost of ingredients, energy and supplies regularly increasing. We have worked hard to absorb these additional costs wherever possible, but to maintain the quality, freshness and service you expect from us, we now need to make some careful adjustments to our prices.

This is never a decision we take lightly and we thank you for your continued support, loyalty and understanding. It genuinely means a great deal.

Another fantastic month for our junior girls! โ›ณ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

Itโ€™s been another busy and successful few weeks for Nell and Indi, proudly representing the club across Wales.

Nell continued her impressive form by finishing runner-up in the last two PING Welsh Junior Tour events at Llantrisant and Morlais Castle, narrowly missing out on top spot by just a few points in the Modified Stableford category. She then went one better at Clyne, producing a superb performance to win the West Wales Junior Championship Modified Stableford title by a comfortable margin. A brilliant achievement!

Indi has also been making great progress, regularly competing against girls from the Welsh regional squads. Her hard work is paying off too, with a personal best competitive 18-hole score of 105 โ€“ a fantastic milestone and a sign of how much sheโ€™s improving.

To round off a memorable month, both girls were invited to an exclusive media day at Royal Porthcawl with PING, Wales Golf and Darcey Harry. They enjoyed 90 minutes of coaching with Head Professional Peter Evans, followed by a Q&A session with Darcey, who is currently competing on the Ladies European Tour. An incredible experience and one theyโ€™ll no doubt remember for a long time.

Well done, girls! Everyone at the club is incredibly proud of your dedication, progress and achievements. Keep up the fantastic work! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
